From that quote I come away confused as to what role they expect Zawadzki to play. Perpetual back-up and sometimes starter wherever he’s needed? If he’s to be an improved Hector Jimenez, fine. But then we need players better than he is at 2-3 positions. Anyway, it’s a long-ish off-season for us this year. I’ll try and chill out and just wait to see what happens.
Well your either protected or your not. He will rotate with Max, Farsi & Herrera. Who starts and gets the most minutes will vary. Only person he would displace would be Arfsten but it’s not like either one will be shipped out or barely play. The way we play involves the LWB doing a lot of running so they both will play. We got Jones for a reason and after a preseason he might beat Max out for the starting role. He is better defensively so it’s all about Nancy and his line up preference which can change game to game.
If we are not selling Schulte then yes it would be better to get another GK and sell Hagen. Will they do that ? Idk but i don’t think it’s a high priority.
Yeboah is still under contract with an option year if we can sell him and get money we should buy that requires a buyer. Who wants him ? Do you think we have any good offers ? Tiny Vampire 1M investment was not a loss even if we let him work. But you can’t sell everyone on the last year of their contract nor can you extend them all. You have to pick and choose and I think we likely made an offer and he wants to move on. That’s going to happen and Hinestroza man sometimes you just have to cut your losses.
I'd like to agree but as others have noted it seems a lot like he's passing along excuses for not having anything much in the pipeline.
Yeah, he should specifically tell us who he and Nancy are trying to sign, the transfer fee, how much GAM will be used, and what the salary will be. Ya know, like all GMs around the world do. oh wait…
Right, because that's what we're talking about. The names of specific players. No, what we're tryng to understand is what position(s) the team is looking to focus on.
Talking about specific players here or elsewhere would be nonsense and that's a ridiculous thing to say.
I suppose I just don’t understand Bill’s original comment of calling him Captain Obvious. Unless it was meant as nothing more than cheap snark, which if fair enough around here. He said what literally any GM would say, which is the bare minimum.
Even that is probably not going to come out publicly until they feel they have a player locked into a deal. The vague answer Tall gave recently is about the best you can hope for
Trade Hagen to San Diego in exchange for them not picking anyone from our team, and they give us a second round draft picl or something like that.
Potential new Crew bar coming our way next to the bike valet/bridge with a big deck. Best name ever, Postcourt. Hope it works out, but Betty’s will always be Betty’s. I was on vacation for the election and Red Bulls matches, but now back. I’ll start responding with what I know in a bit.
Clever but I would rather not recognize the loser...can we vote for Guillermo's or maybe St. Duncan's?
Doubt the bar will even happen, the proposed strip of land is tiny, so a majority of the project would have to be a deck over the river. My guess is that they’d struggle to get approval from the city and the engineering/construction costs would be quite high. It’s not an official Crew bar, so the developers can name it as they so choose.
Assuming it happens (it seems a long shot) does this mean the once-proposed idea of having Condado open during regular hours is off the table? Then again, how many people remember that idea? I already like the idea of the deck...or maybe the BarDecke? But is the idea of the "open to the public during regular hours" Condado still in the works? Maybe if this new project happens where that parking lot is, that'll be a bit of an incentive for the Condado... Back when he was an active player, Duncan would speak about opening a pub in Columbus...
There have been a few kernels of truth or partial truths that have been said in this forum, but some info has been a little inaccurate. What I can tell you is: Yes, Bez has always been a big believer in buying an EPL or European club as a feeder team for the Crew. Differences between him and ownership (should have said ownership previously rather than Haslam’s) on this subject is not why he left though. Bez was poached and offered a better position working for owners that don’t micromanage as much as Jimmy. One might wonder how he met Bill Foley/Black Knight at Bournemouth in the first place…

I'm not sure if he is a full time resident in Columbus now but I did see him on the concourse at our last playoff game. His son had a Hejduk jersey on...very fitting.
I believe he is. I would see him walking his kid to school almost every day last year (mine went to the same school).
I'm always surprised to see so many former crew players come back to columbus even when they were unceremoniously traded or cut. Parkhurst still lives in town. His wife is a doctor. I randomly typed into Google, Adam Bedell, and he's now a PT working for Dr. Pete at O¹. Neil McGuiness still hasn't sold his house in Grandview (unless I ran into him outside some random house with a crew flag that was not his)
