Sure hope not , If we have Nancy & Cucho it’s a good start but we need more. Lose one of them and I believe it’s all over. Nancy is more important in my opinion.
I'm gonna bet we flip dejuan and recoup some of the xAM we got Old man time has got to Camacho and Nagbe. (Aside from today, as Nagbe had a great game)
I watched a wyscout clip of Aidan from the weekend before Boro went down a man, and I can point out two times where he could have done that yesterday and helped us with a goal
Feel bad about Yaw. Went from starting MLS Cup last December, and scoring (what turned out to be the winning goal), to being basically forgotten. I thought he was quite good for us last (2023) season.
Tweets have been broken but here's a shot Had this idea for a project on "the balance of GAM," or the (guaranteed) amount each club has acquired/traded. Went through hundreds of press releases dating back to Jan 1, 2022 in search of transactions involving GAM, but let me know what I missed.https://t.co/66NkLlrkW7 pic.twitter.com/0AQAgazZlt— Marc Machado (@MarcMachado8) November 4, 2024
I read it as the amount of 2024 GAM that we've spent (in red) acquiring players and other trades within the league since 2022. And also the amount of 2024 GAM that we've received (in blue) selling players and other trades within the league since 2022. On average you can see what the net-GAM spend and acquisition is over those years. The Google doc tracks each individual transaction. The League then doles out a specific amount of GAM to each team each season as a base and then there are additional ways to add GAM (such as qualifying for Champion's League). It isn't clear to me that the google doc linked above takes into account money given for CCL qualification (or other mechanisms for acquiring GAM).
It also doesn't track when such GAM expires because no one knows. You could be getting soon to expire GAM, but I'm sure you could move expiring GAM to GAM you were budgeting for another player. I asked Doyle about GAM expiring, and he actually replied that us plebs don't know when it expires but it does at some point
It also can't possibly know what teams have decided to do about converting a portion of transfer fees to GAM based on the recent rule change. I assume the graph is mostly garbage.
Columbus Crew GM Issa Tall on future of Cucho Hernandez:“Cucho is a great player. There is interest in Cucho like there is in other players on our roster. We should be flattered.”Wilfried Nancy jokes: “Take a picture now then look next year— Issa is going to have grey hair!” pic.twitter.com/mWbpdV3Qx5— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) November 6, 2024
This is the biggest “non-answer” ever. It’s a waste of a tweet. Bogert also spells gray “grey” like some European asshole. Dude, you grew up in New Jersey.
No real surprises happening, losing Yeboah and Matan. I have mixed feelings about Matan leaving, but he’ll make more money elsewhere (probably Turkey). AZ is billed as the Matan replacement, but I feel they both bring slightly different things to the table. Good news is we’re shopping for a Camacho successor (ideally tall, left footed, and good in the air). Zawadski is staying put, Nancy sees a lot of potential and we all know Nancy likes a project. Also, Moreira is going to receive some hard earned recognition tomorrow. Nagbe and Cucho getting a little bit of love too, but not as much as deserved.
I always thought Matan would go to turkey. He followed a Turkish club back in August when some rumors were going around. He and Elena are building a house in Romania, so he'll be closeish. Sean will need to get better on the half turn and more willing to push the ball forward.
