At any time though? There's definitely times when they could do it better (something on-campus during the bowl trip, for example.)
My sophomore college roommate, back in the day, was one of several Bucky Badgers. Couldn’t see a damned thing with that head on.
I suppose that makes sense, he probably met most of those guys for the first time in his life 2 days ago or something like that.
Hagen another 90 in Guatemala's 3-1 win over Martinique. Cucho's Colombia are at Peru tonight in a WCQ. Moreira's Cape Verde Islands visit Egypt in AFCON qualifying this afternoon.
According to TUDN, Monterrey are trying to get Cucho for $22m in the winter transfer window. They have already qualified for the Club World Cup and are trying to strengthen their roster for that competition. https://www.tudn.com/futbol/liga-mx...e-gastar-20-millones-de-dolares-para-refuerzo I would imagine a huge deciding factor in whether we sell or not is if we get that last CWC slot. If we do, I can't see us selling Cucho. With that said, I've always thought Liga MX would be the biggest threat to snagging Cucho from us than any league in Europe. I think his style translates better to Mexico than it does to most of Europe, and the Mexican Gigantes are more likely to give him a pay raise compared to what he makes here than anyone in Europe would.
Unsurprisingly the language and sentence structure in that piece is as clear.as mud, but it seems to be claiming that the Crew is ASKING $22 million for Cucho.
I’m hardly a fluent Spanish speaker, but I know enough to read soccer articles. The TUDN reporter, on a talk show, said they (Crew) were asking for $22 million. What’s his source? Unclear. I’d imagine someone at Monterrey, but is that straight from the Crew? Did they make an informal request and the Crew said they wanted at least double their money back? Not clear. I think if someone offered that for Cucho, and he wanted to go, the deal would 100% get done. The article just said they signed Lucas Ocampos and Oliver Torres, but that basically just made them break even with last year because they had money laying around (a spare $6 million for Ocampos is nothing to them). They haven’t even touched their budget for 24/25 yet, and they have been the biggest spending team in North America (fees and wages) for a while now.
Does anyone think our strategy this last window would have been different (more aggressive) if we had that CWC spot in hand? I certainly do. Hopefully we'll have it by the winter window.
The way the article reads is more like the reporter was speculating or hoping they would go after cucho if the European target was not acquired. But I'm blaming the translation on that.
I don’t think we would sell him to liga Mx , CWC or not we will be in CCC and we can pay him more ourselves with no consequences to the Cap. They may want him but they would have to overpay us for us to truly consider it.
Yes, I just saw that. I wonder what is going on with that? We are missing a key player in the middle of our league competition, due to national team duty, and he doesn't even make the match day roster. Wow. https://www.google.com/search?q=per...#sie=m;/g/11v3sj4yql;2;/g/1226mn9d;ln;fp;1;;;
So in all seriousness do we add another keeper before the next intl window ? I’m sure Romero will still be here and I thought he otherwise looked great. Hope he redeems himself. I know Bush is still limited but perhaps he will be healthy by October? But if not we would look even more foolish to go into a game with one keeper again.
When did the Crew re-acquire Aboubacar Keita? He’s on the Crew 2 bench and even listed as a Crew 2 player on the MLS site.
There’s never been an announcement. The last news about him was Colorado loaning him to a club in Ireland for the 2024 season.
I didn't think that was right but saw they waived Keita in August https://www.coloradorapids.com/news/colorado-rapids-waive-defender-aboubacar-keita
As I commented elsewhere, he tore up a knee. Missed all of 2022 with surgery and rehab. One suspects that he hasn't come all the way back. As a former Crew homegrown it seems that the team has offered him a landing spot.
Marino Hinestroza got into a bit of trouble with his loan team, he apparently hasn’t been following the fitness plan laid out for him by his team in Colombia and is a repeat offender in that regard. His team punished him by removing him from the team sheet in their most recent cup game after traveling with the team. According to reports, he was out late with teammates that were drinking, and Hinestroza (who was not drinking) was eating some sausage with fries. Hinestroza is denying the claim and got into a bit of a spat with the reporter on Twitter about it.
