MLS Cup 2024 (Saturday, 12/7) pregame/in-game/postgame thread [R]

I remember when the MLS Cup halftime show seemed to be a bit hyped and they'd try to hire some a little bit trendy, hipster band. Not sure if there's been anything in recent years. Bring in Shakira!

I got ripped off. I accepted the ticket from AXS to find out it is a parking pass. Ticketmaster assured me it is a game ticket. When they accepted that it is actually only for parking, they said they don't tolerate deceptive sellers. Supposedly, my case has been escalated to a department that will find me an actual game ticket. I am guessing the best I'll get is a refund.

AXS could care less. I gave them the name of the seller. Their tech is quite bad. I can't find parking passes for sale on either their website or app. I couldn't list the parking pass for sale on the website. I could on the app, so I am trying to sell it at my cost, which is much higher than the actual price. In any event, I can't figure out how a potential buyer could see it. I can always cancel the sale or lower the price.

I have non-refundable plane tickets so I'll go down to LA and see what happens with Ticketmaster before trying to buy an actual game ticket from AXS or giving up and watching on TV.

I knew the price was low. I thought wishfully that the seller was a righteous person who was selling an extra ticket at cost. That's what I always try to do and I know others do as well. Instead, he is likely a thief and I'm a bit of a sucker. Now, I see similar reports on LA Galaxy reddit including from someone who paid $470 for two GA tickets on Ticketmaster that were also just parking passes.

 

If it's open season on CEOs maybe Ticketmaster's should be careful...
