i dont know what Moffat willdo or what Doms instructions will be,but Im a big Beckham fan and Im orange for life . I think the formula that will work is the following: LA works the ball around very quickly and well,,when they cannot move from the flanks they willusually dump it to becks and he willl hit a long pass to stretch the defense. My formula is to keep Moffat very very close to Becks and play him very physicallllllllll but do NOT piss him off or he will do something dramatic and epic......he makes big plays in big games...so rough him up as much as possible, get a body on him .give him no room to make that first touch and set the ball up for a great pass..........magee, donovan, keane buddle that s alot of weapons so everyone has to mark tight and play hard but we CANNOT afford to let beckham roam around and pick us apart.........so play him tight and very physicallllllll
Well judging by what his own fans said about his wife that made him try to jump in the crowd a few years ago, and Zidane's melt down about suggestive commentary about what one would do with his sister-I would say a few suggestive words from a Scotsman about Becks' wife failed Spice Girls World Comeback Tour might be the trick. But let's be honest, the guy is 37. Just don't foul him so he can use his left foot from a set piece and we should be fine. Talk about RSL's window closing-look at LA. Win or lose, this window is pretty much shut, it just has a bad draft. Donovan, Becks, Keane, Magee, Buddle-these guys have more miles on them than my tires that have the steel belts showing. Win or lose, our window is opening like the first 60 degree day in NY after a hard winter. So if we lose, think of that to get through it. If we win, think of that and buy another round for everyone.
Becky likes to show, turn n hit the cutting pass. Moffat needs to let him post up but grind his way into his passing strengths to minimize that over the top/thru ball. Rico will be in there deep in our middle 1/3 to add to the equation. Davis pinches in as well to let Ashe get up the flank. Magee n him will have the battle out there and should tilt the match either way. Boni will own the right. Bet.
I just got back from Vegas Monday, and while at the Wynn placed what I think are bets with very favorable odds: +210 to win MLS Cup (Bet $100 to collect $310) +280 for Dynamo to win game in regulation (Bet $100 to collect $380) +165 for Dynamo to score first (Bet $100 to collect $265) Over/under 2.5 goals: We took the over because my wife was looking at Houston doing serious damage. Also, Houston was given 0.5 goals on the goal-spread bet, but we didn't do that one. We didn't bet $100 on most of these propositions, but it will be especially nice if we win the Cup in regulation by scoring first on the way to a blowout. Yeah, we are homers... It took a little work getting it all sorted out with the sports book workers, so I don't think the MLS Cup was exactly a common betting event, but it was cool being able to get some action on the action.
I was at Craven Cottage in January and walked by the in stadium betting booth. They had 33-1 odds that Dempsey would score a hat trick. The MOD associate of mine, said don't waste a pence on it, buy a pint-better investment. When Deuce scored the second, I looked over at him and he squirmed. When he scored the hat trick, I celebrated then turned to look at him. He was gone. Left the stand faster than Speedy Gonzales. It was really cold and that point the pint caught up to me, but being in England I was good fan and waited to piss until after the match. It was after the match that it dawned on me that I had literally pissed a lot of money away by buying that Carlsberg. True Story. My point-damn that Dynamo Win in regulation bet is looking like a good investment.
Well my book just posted the lines. Dynamo +320 which is 16/5. Really close to Arts 13/4 but that 35/9 is damn good. They also have Dynamo +.5 a goal at -105, I'll be betting both but I'll wait a bit closer to game time when I think the lines will be even more favorable.
Are you already drinking Shiners, bro? I shouldn't have told you about them being for sale! LOL... JC and I bet monopoly money for anybody that may be wondering.
Not sure the best place to post this, but I was taking the MLS Cup quiz at mlssoccer.com and could not resist: FTR: 9/18
The current edition of the MLS Tiro Libre podcast (in Spanish) has an interview with Boniek. Sounds like a media conference call. It's not that long, but if you want some more Boniek, it's there. It's a little over half-way into the episode.
I've tried to place bets on the Dynamo in Vegas before, but could not find a casino book that would take MLS bets. I'll have to look at the Wynn next time
Great piece by Brian Straus in The Sporting News about Boswell and his evolution from a "playboy" lifestyle to the "Dynamo way": http://aol.sportingnews.com/soccer/...yboy-bobby-boswell-conforms-to-the-dynamo-way
It's wild to think we have Dynamo faithful driving west on I-10 right now. I really respect the folks who drive it. After putting down 1000 miles over Thanksgiving break, i just couldn't do a road trip to LA and back. I look forward to seeing them in LA.
I just remember the pregame broadcast last year with Lalas and co. It was ALL L.A. - The L.A.Galaxy need to do this. - The L.A. Galaxy need to do that. - Superclub - Beckham - Donovan - L.A.'s tactics - L.A.'s season and how they got there - Magee's a good player - L.A.'s subs - How will Arena handle tactics. ....oh, and they're playing some team called the Houston Dynamo. Be prepared to see the same again this year.
I'm just glad that we have more fans going to LA than Colorado and FC Frisco had going to their game, combined. Safe travels to everyone flying, driving, teleporting or whatever.
