I think KC has received a bad rap for bunker ball... Their forwards are so mobile, and work so hard, they don't have to push up their defense as much.

Anyway, I'll be cheering for KC.

    A C L! A C L! A C L!

Still remember that from the 2001 Legends match, but it wasn't my idea.

I will direct my energy toward KC.

Too bad wedgieboy (Klein) won't be able to participate. He's one of my favs. Jimmy Conrad had a great season and deserves this.

I just hate Meola, Garcia, Gutierrez, and Jewsbury. That's the only part that hurts.

How about this pattern of MLS Cup winners- if KC wins the cup, the past 5 MLS Cup winner would be:

    KC SJ LA SJ KC

And if DC wins next year, time to give Rod Serling a call ;)

DC DC Chi DC KC SJ LA SJ KC DC Chi DC DC

I will be at the Cup but I am not really sure yet for whom to cheer.

If KC wins, SJ and DC will have company in the "teams with multiple MLS Cups" category.

If DC wins, United would then have twice as many MLS Cups as the Quakes (4 to 2).

I want a good entertaining, free-flowing game, with a few world-class goals and just as many unbelievable saves by the goalies.

    Ditto.

From where I was sitting the last time K.C. came to town, Jewsbury is a PUNK!

As much as it killed me to watch, the fact that K.C. came back, after trailing 2-0, shows me they deserve to go on. They were a totally different team than we saw at Spartan.

Also, the fact that they knocked out L.A. makes me root for K.C.

P.S. Conrad heads in the winning goal in the 3rd minute of stoppage time!

KC's season this year is a lot like the Quakes' season last year. Finish at the top of the conference, fall down 2-0 in the 1st playoff series, make a great comeback (though not as great as the Quakes' comeback :) ), and then win the conference championship (though not in the dramatic fashion that the Quakes won theirs). I think they'll win, and I'll probably root for them, but I wouldn't mind seeing Freddie score.

I'm not so sure about that. He clearly was the difference in the game the week before. Simply, Freddy Adu won the second game against the Metrostars. Nowak even said as much after the game.

Plus, once he came in against the Revs, Adu put together some of the sweetest passes any MLSer has made this year. And for all the times the ball ends up going the other way, he also gets by guys lots of times and creates absolute havoc. I'll make that tradeoff.

I was skeptical about Freddy Adu at the beginning of the season. But after watching him all year, I am a huge believer.

So was I, but now the kid seems to be coming into his own. I can only wonder what this guy is going to be like when he's 21. The rich teams of the world will no doubt be after him.

    (bump)

A little more info. Pat was getting reservations at the Torrance Marriott. In case you haven't got a hotel yet. That's where a few of us will be staying.

    FYI,

Last year, I stayed at a 10 story Holiday Inn that was just the other side of the freeway from HDC. Took about 4 minutes to get to HDC.....Nice restaraunt/bar, excelent room for $69! Closer than Torrence.
