LA wins in second overtime after one of the most exciting 0-0 games I've seen in a while.

They finally get the Cup after four tries. Not exactly a convincing win but I think Gals fans will take it.

Loney shouldn't be insufferable after the Revs played so even with the Gals but he will be. I'd be, too, if I was him.

I like Loney. I hate the team he supports.

    Congrats, Dan.

wow how about the last 2 chances.
Brown stops a shot by Ruiz, LA saves a shot by ???

Ruiz comes down the field recieves the pass from Erza and puts it between Browns feet.

Wow, I reallly wanted the Revs to win but it was still a good season.

One good thing about the game is that soccer got to piss off milions of Tiger Woods fans rather than the other way around for a change. Heh.

Despite some of the posts to the contrary, it was very enjoyable. Both teams were pressuring any possession immediately in the midfield, which eliminated any flow. It was a classic safety first match both ways. Great crowd, great competition and a nice cap to the season.

Good game, but I'm sick of seeing defensive games in championships. Whether it's the World Cup, Champions League final, or the MLS Cup it seems that teams feel the need to have to play defensive. It seemed like, all of the quality goal scoring chances came after the 80th minute.

Twellman and Ruiz were pretty much taken out of the game by the opposing team. IMHO the man of the match is Cobi Jones. He had lots of quality touches on the ball. The were some points in the game where I thought we was going to win the game all by himself. Definitely the best player on the field today.

Absolutely fantastic game! The best team in MLS won and the goal was scored by the best player in MLS, Ruiz. You couldn't ask for much more.

P.S. Franchino is a thug and should have been red carded earlier in the game.

He definitely got away with one. Should've had a second yellow card, but the Ref was a Puss.

Crap 90 minutes...very exciting OT... I can't say anything more really....fans really deserved better for the WHOLE game, but I think the league will be happy.

Adin was SO close in saving that goal, but hats off to LA for being the best team in the regular season and I guess now in the playoffs...really can't say its unjust.

Franchino's Close-Lining Cobi was worth tuning in alone. :p

I mean that was a blatant, textbook close-line that would have done Butkus proud, and god help me it was absolutely fantastic to see.

Really entertaining game in my opinion, despite the defense fest.

Might have to give Cobi the MVP honors, but for the Revs two people who impressed me were Kante and Cullen. I knew Kante was good but the guy was a rock today. Cullen impressed me since I have this impression of him being a crap player but he is actually rather serviceable.

Grats to the Galaxy. Now I have even more reason to despise you. See you next season.

Franchino should be on every US Nats squad when we play the Guats, Ticos or Mexico.

What really blows is having your roommate come in around 3:50 wanting to see how his Ravens are doing, thereby forcing you to see only bits and peices of overtime during NFL commericals, after watching 90+ minutes of the Cup, thus missing the golden goal. Effin sucks, big time. I mean our TV is a gridiron shrine every saturday, sunday, and monday night, you'd think a man could watch his one soccer game on the off-sunday! I cant study right now, feeling like crap from missing the ending - won't be able to speak to the guy for a little while either, seriously bummed.

Sorry, I had to vent, and this is the only place that would understand.....

At first, I definitely wanted the Revs to win, but after Franchino didn't get sent off for a textbook (2nd) yellow, my feelings were very mixed. You hate to see a ref decide a game, but that foul absolutely had to be a yellow, and I don't see the Revs holding out a man down.

dude you should have punched him in the face for making you miss the championship for some gay regular season gridiron game.

revenge: change the Super Bowl for soccer or if theres no soccer on, put it on something else.

see my roommate has learned. Soccer on TV means leave me alone as I am not in the mood to be interupted. He knows that when a soccer game is on TV, the only thing that will make me change the channel is the second coming of Christ.

His TV? Sell it at a pawn shop. The MLS season is over, so you won't be the least bit screwed, and next semester when the season starts up again he'll be back home with mom and dad, since he clearly doesn't do any studying before midweek.

Your TV? Kick yourself in square in the nuts.

I thought that was nice too.

I hope that doesn't mean that ABC will not televise the 2003 MLS Cup.

It would be nice to read Dan's match report of 2002 MLS Cup.

Totally agree. "Professional foul" is only a weak phrase that really means 'I got burned so bad, the only thing I can do that would be dumber than what I'm doing is let them score.'
