anyway... *yawn* I fell asleep on the couch during the second half. Boring game unitl the end. I kept imagining what it would have been like if the QUAKES had been in there doing their beautiful soccer thing because I certainly didn't see anything close to beautiful from neither LA nor NE. At any rate, the greater of the two evils won. Kudos to them. I feel nauseated.
Congratulations to the Los Angeles Galaxy for winning the MLS Cup, the fourth time is the charm for them... I wasn't planning to watch the game and then decided at the last minute to leave the channel instead of watching the NFL 49ers... Really was a snooze of a game until overtime. I was hoping the game would get into PKs and the Revs would win it in front of the home crowd. Good thing I wasn't at Boro this time to watch it--there would have been a bunch of upset fans from San Jose... However, give credit where it's due... I hope they lose Thursday in Columbus... Just have to wish they kept Luis Hernandez...
oh well... as for thoughts on the game....it was a pretty boring game up until the very last few minutes IMO. i wouldnt be so sad right now if it hadnt been ruiz to score the game winning goal. i thought he had it right there and then on the bicycle kick though. too bad NE couldnt hold them a bit longer, my bet is if they had held them to PKs, they couldve won...but whats done is done i guess
i didn't think it was boring. i was screaming most of the time. pretty disappointing to see the gals win, though.
I enjoyed watching the parts of the game that I did actually see. I won't say anything about the result cuz I have mixed feelings. I guess I really didn't care one way or another who won. But I am glad Craig Waibel gets a ring. Now he's one classy guy!! He is on the WRONG team though.
Good point, yalp! It was pretty choppy. Maybe I should take the high road, like Nap, and congratulate the Galactorrheas on their win. But, with a side note: BTW, is that correct medical spelling, yalp?
I'd rather be a goodsport and congratulate them abeit very grudgingly... you know the people that I refuse to shake hands with, and none of them are with the Galaxy... I am impressed that 61K showed up for the game, and looking at the filled stadium despite the majority cheering on the home team... Did the garage sale take place? Next, it's ask Doctor Yalp. Cheers!
Ugly game. Didn't get good until the last 20 minutes of overtime. But it was a pretty ugly game overall. I had a feeling that it was going to be the Galaxy, they definitely looked like they wanted it more.
Match was boring as hell. Even Nicol practically seemed alternatively bored and weary at the scrappiness of the game. Too bad the Revs couldn't pull it out in front of the home crowd, but, to my disappointment, they were timid the few times they got in the box. My extreme distaste for Ruiz the haggard toad notwithstanding, I guess the Gals deserved it.
By golly, yes it is!! It's the result of a condition known as Galactorosis--the mysterious and unexplainable voluntary intake of galaxatives. Go figure!!
My thoughts exactly. There was very little attractive in the play of both of these teams. I couldn't help but think that the Quakes could have taken either of 'em. Every time the Revs got a turnover, I expected them to spring a nice fluid counter, but no such thing ever materialized. Alas, I was not watching the Quakes... Highly disappointing game on so many levels. First of all, it's boring as bricks, and then the Floppin' Little Fish wins it for the Forces of Evil! Arrgh! On the plus side, the 61,000 who showed up did MLS proud. Congrats, New England!
Right about now, I would gladly sock in the mouth any Galaxy fan who also roots for the Angels... It does not help that I have extended family in SoCal either.
You know, no matter what LA will ALWAYS be (sing it with me people) "once, twice, three time losers." No one can ever take that away from them. Wonderful isn't it?! And no matter what, the Quakes will always be champions (first and on their first attempt).
