The Article Changed Sort of Odd. The article posted was replaced in its entirety. The original article had a first match list of eight players with "impressive performances". They were Grabavoy, Indiana, Marshall, Stanford, Pusek, UBA, Gonzales, Tulsa, Herrera, Maryland, Nunez, SMU, Cronkrite, Portland, and Arzate, UCSB. The subsequent article had a slight twist and included several members from the second match. This included Pickens, SW Missouri St, Taylor, UCLA and Cochrane, Santa Clara. Glad we're getting reports from the Combine.
Go Ephmen!! I saw this guy play my USD Toreros once this year. He was a man amongst boys, even amongst his own UCLA teammates. I'm not much of a scout but for me, he's a lock to become a MLS regular if not more.
Let's see. It just so happens that the Fire is looking to replace a left back from UCLA taken in the draft who was a man amongst boys and surprised a lot of people.
I was very impressed with him with the u-20s. There's about a snowballs chance in Hades of him lasting until the Quakes pick, unfortunately.
Just for the record the A-League Portland Timbers drafted Griffin back in December. Of course the A-League Draft is basically worthless as most players will try their luck with MLS and will only then take a look at the A-League after that. If somehow Griffin does not get picked up it sounds like the Timbers have a good player in the mix for this year.
Strange. I was there yesterday and yes, Grabavoy and Marshall look good. There was a lot of poor performances though. Bradley's son looked waaaay out of his depth. Granted you can't learn too much about a players potential based on one match (where the coaches were doing a ton of substitutions) but I was very impressed with right back, Gary Sullivan out of Adelphi. Surprised Top Drawer didn't mention him.
scott buete first and foremost a dc supporter here, and hoping our local boy stays local and somehow ends up with united...not shure if that even possible..either way wherever he goes i will support him...anybody out there seen or heard how scottie is playin??? just checked on topdrawer and they put him on the team of the day, along with three of the other md boys...also u think all five terps gonna get drafted??
Re: scott buete Yes, I think all five UMD players will get drafted. Goodson is a P-40 so being drafted is a given. Scotty Buete was well thought of coming and he's done nothing to change anyone's mind with his play. Sumed is obvious selection but the BIG question is when, he is very hot & cold and somewhat fragile at times. Seth Stammler recovered well on the second day after shaky start on day one. He's obviously more comfortable in the middle with Goodson but will probably have to play outside at the next level. AJ Herrera came in as a longer shot but has played well here and impress folks. Here's when I see them going: Goodson 1st rd Buete 2nd rd Sumed 2-4th rd Stammler 3-4th rd Herrera 4-6th rd Go Terps!
thanks for getting back to me...i agree with everything u said, especially sumed, i have defnitly seen his brilliance at times, but way too much disappointment, specially when it matters...great to hear aj is showing his best stuff...for awhile i thought he might get lost on the stacked treps after getting injured, but he has really played well this last year especially...getting nervous and excited about the draft i can't wait!!! go terps...anyone hear anything about day 3???
Erik Cronkrite? Anyone see Erik play? How did he do? I saw that he made the "All-Fist Day" Team. Any thing more after the first day? Good luck Erik
Yup, Marshall's going to be the first guy not named Adu to get drafted. I had visions of him joining his former Stanford teammate Todd Dunevant on our back line...
Marshall The Galaxy don't need more defenders. They just need some creative midfielders (doesn't everyone though?!?).
