Good summary in the Top Drawer article. Sounds like Memo Arzate of UC Santa Barbara might be able to play at the next level. Glad to see Leo Griffin had a good camp- I'm hoping that he'll be one of the players to make an impact this coming season.

I couldn't get down there this week-I'd like to get more input from someone who really got to see everyone. Any predictions on who might be this next season's surprises, like Nat Borchers, Todd Dunivant and Damani Ralph (yeah, everyone is now saying he's no surprise, but what were they saying this time last year?)

See my Notes From The MLS Combine and National Team Scrimmages. It features synopses of all three days of the combine plus some notes on the national team training camp.

Good stuff, Knave. I notice in your "top picks" post that you list Stammler ahead of Griffin. Any reason? Also, you mention Ara's lack of physicality. Do you think that will ultimately prevent him from having success at the pro level? Everyone's commented about the lack of depth at forward. Wow, you ain't kiddin'. Just Taylor & Ngwenya, huh. But I'm not surprised-talented forwards are always the most difficult to find. I believe that it is more difficult to project success at the pro level in soccer than it is, for example, in basketball. Nevertheless, notwithstanding their performances throughout college and at the combine, I wonder which of the players will become standouts in MLS. My guess is only a few. (Adu? Marshall? I like Nunez, but his size may hamper him) It's still early to tell about some of the other P-40 players, but I have a feeling that Grabavoy's lack of athleticism will hold him back.

Those weren't listed in any particular order.

It might if he tries to play d-mid. But, honestly, if he could develop that part of his game and be less casual he could challenge for a position (in time) on any MLS team.
It all evens out over the years. Previous drafts have been strong up front, this one was strong in the back. Who knows what next year will bring.
The rumor of his lack of athleticism is somewhat overwrought.
