That’s the idea. But MLS, it almost never works.Firing a manager early in the season has no impact on a team’s final standing, based on the data. Here's why MLS teams are firing the wrong people ⤵️https://t.co/a6qMQh8wYw— Backheeled (@Backheeled) April 14, 2026
According to a source the issues between Inter Miami and Mascherano began when Mascherano found his system and the club spent big on Berterame, a player he wasn’t keen on. CCC elimination and weak start in new stadium was all brass needed. But it started early.— Kelvin Loyola (@KelvinLoyola) April 14, 2026 Or was it this: 🚨According to multiple reports, Javier Mascherano chose to step down on his own. He made the call following the CCC exit, catching many at the club by surprise. Once he informed the club and Lionel Messi, his decision was respected. pic.twitter.com/YXBcdtGijJ— Inter Miami News Hub (@Intermiamicfhub) April 15, 2026 Likely somewhere in between
Lesesne should have only been given a ten game runway in DC last year, look what that got us. Weiler should be gone now. It’s all about the next hire. Preferably an experienced MLS head. I’d take an MLS 2.0 coach to stabilize the ship, not looking for someone to impose a new system that fails across two seasons again. Thx, Jay!
I guess my big question, as an RSL fan(boy), is JaviMo sticking around? He wasn’t part of the 2025 staff that joined Mascherano. He was appointed interim manager last time there was turnover, but not this time. Curious what his future is with the club, (and Santi).
It seems like he is not. Post by @joeclowery.bsky.social — Bluesky The technical staff page on Miami's website returns MLS's 404 page.

Maybe I’m naive about the relationship between the business of soccer and the sport of soccer, maybe I’m wrong to think improving the sport could do a hell of slot to support the business of soccer…but I’d like that list to have the inverse ratio of soccer people to non soccer people. Because Hans Schroeder was a character on Boardwalk Empire it’s not easy to find out where this guy is from. Maybe he’s from Germany or Austria or Switzerland.
He's not wrong, but I'm afraid his thinking is likely in the minority of MLS owners: Josh Blank, VP of executive strategy, and an emerging voice within AMBSE, believes the next MLS commissioner should have a strong US sports/soccer background. “They have to understand the product.” Blank: If the product improves the right media deal will present itself.— Felipe Cárdenas (@FelipeCar) May 4, 2026
Wasn't Tom Glick once part of NYCFC's front office? Tom Glick, CEO of Hometown Soccer Holdings says MLS has identified 150 markets they think could support a new club in MLSNP. With PE firm KKR backing the radical plan to move MLS2 teams to new markets, the game is on: https://t.co/WzpJe4WAIa— Simon Evans (@sgevans) May 4, 2026
DMAs 170-180: Dothan, AL Utica, NY Clarksburg, WV Harrisonburg, VA Jackson, TN Quincy-Hannibal-Keokuk Charlottesville, VA Lake Charles, LA Elimira Corning, NY Watertown, NY Bowling Green, KY The ones in the 150s and even 160s are generally more notable, but you're getting down into the 70k population areas. Still large compared to some of the European urbanizations that have third division teams of course. And that 150 (+30-60 something in MLS and reserves) would include a lot of second teams in markets.

Sean Sullivan, aka Sully, was the long-time liaison between the Front Office and Centennial 38 and everyone is happy to hear of his promotion. He still steps in from time to time to help us out. Kinser has also done some of that work with us too though it was never her primary responsibility.
