I cant recall where I saw it, but it was reliably reported that the insurance company never paid out. The claim raised all sorts of red flags - no shit, right? - and pretty much the first thing they looked at was the date and time on the police report.
A coach resigns for using racist slurs and some people are mad at a washed up striker that was driving with expired insurance.
Jermaine Jones wants to coach in MLS, he reached out to the Rapids but was rebuffed. https://www.si.com/soccer/2020/02/21/jermaine-jones-instagram-sarah-charvet-gun-us-soccer-arena Might have had something to do with tweeting FREE AGENT BABY!!! while the stadium was still emptying of Rapids fans after the 2016 playoffs, but maybe that's just me....
So he moved to Hollywood, went to parties with "Charlie Sheen and Paris Hilton" and is now disgusted at how shallow everybody is. Does he own a mirror? I think his new business arranging bar hopping and "girls" for visiting European players is much more suited to his "talents" than having someone turn over a half billion dollar investment to the direction of a narcissistic show pony. Guys like him arent ever interested in signing on somepace as the 3rd assistant, picking up cones and handing out pinnies. No no, they've played "at the top levels of the sport" and they want to stand in the technical area yelling at the fourth official. Like Brad Friedel only with less humility but most likely the same results. Good luck with that pimping and bottle service gig.
One of the easiest to spot indicators of Insurance Fraud there is. People who work in Insurance claims are trained on this stuff and take courses every year to stay fresh.
My house got hit by lightning several years ago. Our claim was legit, and there was some fire damage, but he claims adjuster was a real prick, trying to fine-tooth comb over everything to find a discrepancy. Of course, they get paid based on how low they can get the final claim to be, so it's no surprise that he tried to negate a bunch of legit expenses to see if he can get away with it. So it's no surprise that they will look into anything that looks suspicious--it is their job,and that's what their company pays them to do. Still, when you get 3 estimates for construction and the guy says he'll only pay an amount at 70% of the lowest of the 3, he's just being a bastard. We eventually did get him to pay us for the middle estimate, but it was like pulling teeth!
Someone who works in the industry mentioned that. It was more of a "commission" kind of thing, rather than a flat-out salary. This was about 20 years ago, but things may have changed since then. At least that would have explained a few things. Either that,or he was just doing it for fun in his spare time.
Oh Cincinnati...please hire JJ. Itll take my mind off the terrible season seaiting me. What more do you have to lose?
I am in the industry now and I have never heard of doing that. Too much conflict of interest IMO. Usually a claim would just get denied entirely and the lawyers on retainer would fight for it.
Absolutely, I can see trying to carefully look over all expenses to make sure everything was legit, and looking out for the company's interests, but this guy was way over the top. I suppose it's good to know that most claims adjusters aren't like that. But there was no way you could deny this claim, lightning hit the house, the fire dept. came (even thought I was home and put it out with a fire extinguisher), and all that.
Oh please, oh please, oh please... (actually, he should team up with Wynalda in Vegas, just to see the fireworks).
