I know Columbus has sold 19k tickets already for the 5th, and may be playing in front of a sold out stadium. How's the rest of the league doing?
I think San Jose has at least 5 or 6 dozen sold already. But it looked like more when I was reading it. Move San Jose.

Thats pretty good for Columbus. Its seems like they usually play to a half empty stadium opening day. Their crowds never seem to get good til the summer.
Same here. But I don't think that's going to happen until every MLS team is drawing 30,000 per match. But in response to those frequent "how will you know when soccer has arrived in the US" threads, the answer is always "when these threads no longer appear."

I say 24k divided by 2 makes 12k. Now, and think reeeeeally hard here: Does 16k (which we'll blow out this year) make a half attended stadium? The clock is ticking, but I think you'll need to take your time.
Tuesday's announcment of 19K bodes really well for a full house on Saturday. The Crew usually get about a 2-3K walk-up crowd for the games anyway. Although if it's raining and only 52 you may see a lot of no shows. Now that doesn't hurt the pocket book too much, but could look really bad on TV. The last I saw there was only a 40% chance of rain Saturday. Hope it stays a low chance. But knowing how Crew games are there's a 40% chance of rain over central Ohio and a 100% chance of rain right over CCS. It just wouldn't be a Crew home game if it weren't cold and wet. PS: Maybe Dawgpound2 was seeing the second home game of the season for the Crew. That's usually much lower then opening day. Last year there was 18K for the opener and only 8K for a cold windy second game. I hope a good start to the Crew's season fixes that.

A sellout is technically 22,500 at CCS meaning seats. If the 2-3K did show up when the game was sold out, they would be sold SRO tickets because CCS can go to 25,000. I think that would be an adequate messege that if they want a seat, they need to order ahead of time. You just don't turn away customers, unless you absolutley have to. But all this is best case, and I don't think it happens. I think the Crew get 21-22K
