So if NYC average the same attendance as they did in their last 6 matches last season they will finish the season with an average of 29384 = +368 on last season. The last 6 games last season were against Montreal, DC United, Columbus, Toronto, San Jose and New England. This season they face Tim Howard with high-flying Colorado, LA Galaxy, DC United, FC Dallas, Chicago and Columbus.
Lets see if the Galaxy announce a number greater than 27k today, since they don't seem capped by an arbitraty 27k anymore. One thing that might affect attendance is a Dodgers home game at the same time. Joe Casual will probably choose the Dodgers for his post-game fireworks.
Rapids are trying for an attendance record today. The best we can figure the team record at the Dick is 19680 on July 4th 2009. The Snow Clasico in 2013 after the stadium was reconfigured for the Terraces and some suites were changed had 19,374 and they had more temporary bleachers set up for that than I saw out at the stadium out on Saturday. They seem to have released extra standing-room only tickets today though. I'm pretty sure we'll top 19K but I don't think we'll see a new record.
I think this might be a regular season record for Stubhub Center. EDIT - nope. Donovan's last game had 27,244
That's a sell-out in Dallas right now. Great crowd, and a great performance from the home team to boot. Hopefully there's a "bump" as attendance in Dallas has gone the wrong direction this season. [For a bunch of reasons we don't need to re-hash.]
2016 sucks. And by sucks I mean absolutely sucks harder than any year I have experienced. My in-laws have a cabin in Kitsap County that we visit about once a month. As can imagined with the long weekend last week we took advantage of the 4th falling on Monday and headed over early Friday. Well Saturday my FIL ended up in the ER with shortness of breath. Here we are now on Thursday the 7th and we are still here now caring for my MIL who has memory issues, while my FIL waits to have a cardiac ablation. Fortunately I added internet service here a couple months ago, so I am able to work remotely. But I won't be getting to the numbers for a while. Did I mention 2016 sucks?
I'm not going to get all sappy here, but you just take care of your family - and yourself. We got this.
