15,474 at Empire Field for VAN-TFC. Pretty strong considering they were going head-to-head with the Canucks

If people want to know why the Rapids draw so poorly, things like this don't help. Today's Rapids Insider email went out with the following subject line:

The email then went on to discuss Sunday's game against Toronto. Apparently the commercial played during one of the local morning news shows this morning also had the 4/30 Chicago tag instead of the 5/22 Toronto tag on it.

Do the Rapids realize the uproar they are in store for when Logan Pause doesn't run out of the tunnel?

Yeah, we've been over this plenty of times - the NBA and the NHL are... let's say 400 pound gorillas compared to MLS (the NFL is the 800 pound gorilla). But it would still be sweet to say on paper that our league has a higher attendance average than theirs!

Red Bulls announcers saying a crowd of over 20,000 tonight at Robertson Stadium. Add that to another solid crowd in Philadelphia... good start to the week.

    What a ridiculous comment.

How about this: Wake me up when MLS passes the NFL or the EPL.

Passing ANY other league in average attendance is by definition better than NOT passing that league. No one is saying "OMG! MLS is now bigger than NBA/NHL!!!"

I read comments in order, so I read it after I responded to your original comment. I'm pretty sure there's no requirement that one read every comment in a thread before responding to a particular comment.

I see that you stated that your CFL comparison was "stupid" whereas I called it "ridiculous"... I'm just not sure why you would bother making a stupid comparison, later stating that it was a stupid comparison, and then engaging in personal attacks ("moron") against someone for stating that it was a ridiculous comment when you already admitted that it was....

might as well subtract 3 from Portland's tally. 3 crew fans were kicked out because their seats were to close to the Timbers Army.

They kicked them out rather than move them to the away section? WTF...

More like they didn't want to move from the seats they paid for. They are trying to get their money back as we speak. I'll let you guys know what happens when i find out from my friends.

The Chivas number should go down as a sellout for LAG.

Good numbers - These are great numbers for MLS. Today could be the highest average attendance day in MLS history (excluding opening days and special double headers).:D

    CHI @ PHI = 18,372
    RBNY @ HOU = 25,314
    LAG @ CHV = 27,000
    SKC @ SSFC = 36,098
    NER @ SJE = 9,736
    CLB @ PTFC = 18,627

    Average 22,525
    Median 21,971

  19. Houston got that crowd because of Marquez. Huge Mexican population in Houston. Not that I disagree that I could see them doing very well in their new stadium next year. I think they will. very good soccer market.

Any idea why a few thousand fans decided to wear their seat jerseys?

Other crew fans got to stay. What's the story with those three? So far on SCUSA I haven't seen word they were kicked out of the stadium, just removed from the section.

I don't know my friend Bobby and his brother Andy are very stubborn when it comes to what they paid for. Plus they were probably BSing with their Uncle who is a Timbers fan. Maybe Security misread it as them trying to start s*** with timbers fans. Thats my guess all i know is that i saw on facebook where he said he refused to move and and then someone saying he was kicked out and i texted him. He said they asked him to move and he was like no we bought these seats, and then he was kicked out and last i checked he was trying to get a refund.

Oh and if your wondering who the third crew fan is that would be my buddy Kurtis, He was probably kicked out for being associated.

That or my friends are full of it.lol

that I shall find out soon.
