Hey all. Here is the new and improved season stats table. Which means I just added a spacer column between the raw numbers, and the threshold numbers. I also have the new comparison tables ready to go. Season Stats Totals …… Threshold Count Percent Played 9 …… >=50000 0 0.0% Total 174696 …… >=30000 1 11.1% Average 19411 …… >=20000 5 55.6% Median 20019 …… >=15000 7 77.8% Maximum 38998 …… <10000 1 11.1% Minimum 7121 …… <7500 1 11.1% Deviation 8313 …… <5000 0 0.0%
It today's result is in any way indicative of their performance this season, I expect their fans to bandwagon like no other. Sellout crowds like in years past should not be unexpected. Really much too soon to tell, but its worth noting. The Toronto sports market does not stay away for long.
While I agree a good season will bring BMO Field back to closer to full.....the notion that Toronto sports market does not stay away long will be news to the Argos and, to some extent, the Jays.
To be honest, it is either the weather or just the Fire being dull. They do not have anyone on that team who brings people in. There is no Cuahtemoc, Jorge Campos or a Nowak. The DP McDonald is not worth his salary.
I am not sure how I feel about the fact that the Canadian teams might all be good. It's so confusing!
Wait, are you implying Toronto at Montreal is one of the must-see games next week? What is this world coming to?
Can't it be both? I watched the second half yesterday and I was actually angry at the tv that the Fire plays such horrible, insipid, uninspiring, vapid boring play.
They're like DC United in that way it would seem. (Conversely, DC managed to get a 1-0 victory even with that type of play this weekend.)
I think people bought tickets and probably couldn't attend when it got moved back to Sunday so they stayed home. Pretty standard and I'm not that surprised with the number.
Not expecting a very good number at CUSA: Grant Wahl @GrantWahl Buddy at Chivas USA game just texted me a panoramic pic of near-empty stadium. Says there's fewer people than at last week's debacle.
A little disappointed with this number. Would people from Vancouver have any context for this number? Is there any excitement around this team this year, in the mainstream media?
Interesting point of reference/comparison, today's Millwall-Blackburn FA Cup quarter-final at The Den (capacity about 20K) drew 14,885.
