ESPN wants to know what you think of their MLS coverage. What can be improved? What new features do you want to see? Here's your chance to tell ESPN what you want to see in future MLS telecasts.

They should put more mics in the stands.

They need to get rid of that lame intro music and start with something more upbeat. Maybe include some chanting or something. For the casual ESPN viewer that lame intro music sets the tone for a boring game.

Just a reminder that the MLS season starts very soon. Tell ESPN what you want to see in the broadcast! If you click on the link above after you register for free there, please post your thoughts. They do listen.....

Why don't we ever hear them in baseball or American football games?

You're probably not allowed to bring them in.

I say, have NO mics in the stands and put in artificial crowd noise like ESPN does for Champions League, La Liga, Serie A, etc. Hey, the noise (ie. plastic horns) sounds artificial anyways, might as well play some good-sounding artificial noise.

It wasn't always thus. I remember seeing them for sale at Detroit Lions games when I was a kid (late 60's when the Lions played at Tiger Stadium). I even bought one once. And, the distinctive sound was there, but it was never as constant as at soccer games these days.

I find that I can tell the venue based on the horn sounds. For Metrostar matches, the horns sound like ESPN (or whomever is broadcasting) mistakenly put their mics outside the stadium so that you hear car horns blaring in a traffic jam on a nearby freeway. On the other hand, HDC horns sound like a plague of locusts moving in.

On Fox Sports Net, they showed some highlights of the New Zealand and Argentina rugby match at HDC. And those horns were pretty darn loud.
