With only one game left in the season, Real Madrid needs to not only win their final game against Real Sociedad, but then also need Barcelona to either lose or tie against Zaragoza in order for Real Madrid to wind up 2nd in La Liga and automatically qualify for Champions League. Beckham also wont' be playing in the final game because he was sent-off in their latest game in which they lost against last place and already relegated Murcia.

If they don't finish the season at least 2nd, then I believe they'll have to play a mid-August qualifier for CL which would them put into jeopard both their Asian and US tours to include the MLS All-Star game.

So what if this goes down? Then what?

Actually if Real wins and Barca ties then Real will still finish 3rd on goal differential (unless they actually beat Sociedad by more then 4 goals). However, even if they have to play a single CL Qualifier I don't think they will cancel the US tour. The Asian tour looks to be in real jeopardy.

If they have a mid-August qualifier and the MLS All-Star game is at the end of July, then Real might still come and actually give a good game trying to get themselves into match shape and regain their sharpness.

Regardless of how many matches are played Figo will complain about fixture congestion. I wish they would send his whiny arse back to Barcelona.
