    3 possibilities at the moment:

MLS v Bayern Munich @ Crew Stadium

    MLS v Chelsea @ NY

MLS v Real Madrid @ LA (Rose Bowl or Coliseum)

Look at his post history before you criticize.

doesn't look like he was criticizing, he was asking a legitimate question. what's the big deal?

The great thing about "sources" is that they are unkown to the public. Naming them would end their ability to provide information as a source!

This is MLS and nothing is final until it is final.

Columbus and Chicago were interested in hosting the All Star game. Chicago is now out, leaving Columbus. Crew Stadium has traditionally drawn well for Friendlies --- and in an MLS vs. B.M. format will likely do well again.

Real Madrid will only play in LA as a stop on their way to the Far East where they are already committed. This match is considered a long shot.

Chelsea would prefer to play in NY.

CCS seems small <24,000> to host a game like munich vs. mls all-stars as i have a feeling a game like this would sell out a larger venue...

columbus has a large historically german population so i am sure it would be received well here, and i would bet people would travel to see this match.

    Obvious answer:

Columbus is centrally located, cutting down on travel times for fans and players alike. Columbus did draw good with their last All-Star game (23,495 paid).

I don't see why they'd go with the Rose Bowl or the Coliseum in LA, considering rent would have to be paid and they have the HDC. The grass at HDC has been an issue this year, but other than that, it makes little sense. If they want to sell out a large stadium, centrally locate the game in KC, Colorado or Chicago. If Real wants to play in LA, and the game isn't in HDC, why not?

Better yet, is SUM thinking about coordinating a tour to compete with CW?

I wasn't criticizing. I was merely asking a legit question. I did not know the track record. Now I do. Sorry. :)

I hope not. It's not like MLS needs more competition during the summer. With the Champions World stuff and World Cup Qualifying going on next summer, I think MLS/SUM would do well to not compete with itself.

Not obvious. There has already been a rumor about a match in Yankee Stadium.

The MLS All-Star game should be held at C.C.S.

They have a S.S.S., they should be awarded the game.

    Besides, I'd rather see 24,000 in C.C.S. than 35,000 in R.F.K....

Even if all the games were against MLS teams? Or done in conjunction with MLS games, leaving sloppy seconds for the Eurosnobs?

    I'd be down with that.
