Right there: a player of Diogo's quality has to start that run a step sooner, in which that ball from Luna meets him at a perfect spot and he might be in. But he was a step slow, so it's a turnover.
No, but if the play would've been called dead, it should reverse the yellow, no? If it was called offsides in the old way, there would never be a card issued in the first place.
Well this might work out, but our shape is completely blown and we're playing 11 in our defensive third more often than not.
That Glad throw-in was anticlimactic. So much time spent wiping down the ball, everyone sets up for a deep throw, and then it doesn’t clear the first defender. Woof.
I told my daughter that he can't do it, and he'd be better off faking the long throw and dinking it short.
In the context of our history — At Dallas— getting a point a man down for a substantial part of the match is a very acceptable result. If we had better quality up top we would have won it I think, because there were opportunities to score another goal easier than the heroics of Luna’s goal. In the second half FCD’s defenders focused on Luna, leaving other attackers open. But they didn’t have the quality to take advantage. Of course this ignores Abubakar’s open opportunity. Not sure what happened there.
Calliskan surprised at RB. Some issues early but he settled in. His ability on the ball was a nice improvement there.
With Goncalves and Agada on the field together we have 2 players who cannot score. It’s really that simple. As a fan of Portuguese ball I’m really disappointed in Goncalves’ impact (or lack thereof). He brings everything to the table…except putting the ball into the net. Julio is better at that than he is.
