I thought Vargas switched to Mex and talked about how he never felt the love for the USMNT. Also, I'm bummed Luna wasn't included.
He filed a one time switch to Mexico. Seattle apparently didn't release him to Mexico for the U20 CONCACAF Championships. Why Seattle's Obed Vargas switched from USA to Mexico | MLSSoccer.com "... [The US] did everything, they always treated me right," Vargas continued. "They gave me opportunities, they had so much belief in me. And [Mexico] was just the team I wanted to play for and the team I love." As far as Luna, Cowell, etc. we've talked about it ad naseum. We had so many U23 wingers and attacking midfielders that we could have filled two teams.
Thanks. Not sure what Seattle not releasing him has anything to do w/ it. My point was he never wanted to play for the US. So, not sure that not being named to the US Olympic team has anything to do with his performance. And, surely there is a thread somewhere for ex-US-eligibles?
The option was to boot it long to relieve the pressure. But I guess passing it blindly right through the middle of the field is just as good.

Incredible finish from Quinn Sullivan! 😤Plus a sweet celebration with his brother Cavan, getting ready for his debut. pic.twitter.com/1WJmYD1iwg— Major League Soccer (@MLS) July 18, 2024
Paul Arriola was back to his tricks last night for Dallas with a goal and an assist. Farrington and Kamungo started on the wings with Musa up top. Logan assisted on Arriola's goal. He now has a goal or an assist in 5 of Dallas' last 7 games. Good value from a draft pick right there. Dallas won 3-1, and is slowly creeping back into the playoff picture under new coach Luccin. Austin? Nothing worth talking about. They're not good.........................and very nondescript from a USMNT point of view. Dallas may not be good either, but they did clinch Copa Tejas last night. 5'6" with a goal-scoring attitude. pic.twitter.com/8umkLsTRHg— FC Dallas (@FCDallas) July 18, 2024
Chicago scored a big 1-0 upset over Cincinnati last night with Brian Gutierrez scoring the game winner for the Fire. Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular #cf97 pic.twitter.com/oX0qdzmQlH— Chicago Fire FC (@ChicagoFire) July 18, 2024
Cole Bassett scored again last night. Although it was of the less-than-sexy rebound after a failed penalty variety. Farrington showed a lot of patience and non selfishness there. Most players would have tried to shoot there.
Good vision. It could be that a few years from now we'll say ardently "Why wasn't Farrington selected to back up McGuire on that 2024 Olympic team?" [They're similar in age. Both 2001 birthdays.] As far as I can tell, Logan has zero caps on any youth level. He's from where? Racine, Wisconsin. There is a very high profile former USMNTer from Racine, Wisconsin. Played academy soccer with the Milwaukee Bavarians. That's a fairly historic club in the Midwest. At least the name is. They've existed in several different iterations over the years.

Luna continues the post-snub tear Perhaps, Cavan has brought good luck to the Union. Bradey and Celentano had a nice keeper duel. Will Arfsten be the next transfer out of C-bus? Bassett continues the post-Europe renaissance.
Cam Harper of NYRB continues to be one having a very good season, but seemingly not mentioned along with his brethren. Yet another Olympics eligible winger. So far down the pecking order we don't even get to him in our top 10 of such guys. I won't be surprised if he's an off-the-radar callup for January camp.
I'm only just seeing him for the first time, so I'm not sure. But he just registered his first assist in his first professional start (and 2nd professional appearance) at 16 years old. Apparently the only reason he hasn't appeared more this season is he's been dealing with various injuries and only just recently got healthy. But he already looks like a potential starting LB for this team, even when DeJuan Jones returns.
Kid has speed, quickness, athleticism, and serves in a fantastic ball from LB. Looks like a young Jedi! picking up my jaw from the ground!
He should have had at least one assist in the first half to Bobby who miss-headed a beautiful served ball.
He was at the U-17 world cup last year. 2nd youngest player on the squad. He was played as a wing-forward and didn't look that great. That's my book which is not of much value I'm sure.
His goal, I recall, was to reach 15 goal contributions. It's looking like he set his sights too low, though after 2023 and his previous high being 10, that's not shocking.

In the Olympic teams search to find a #9, I wonder if they talked to Vancouver about White............................ He's now Vancouver's all-time leading goal scorer. That's not saying a lot, but it's true nonetheless. He's blown by Camilo.
