There's nowhere on the roster that a draftee could be expected to make the club even as a bench player. It would be reasonable to draft Molloy, play him on Revs 2, and give Zahibo and Caicedo a chance to earn a medium-to-long term place. If either fails to prove he is worth holding on to by the waiver deadline, Molloy could replace him. It wouldn't be the worst outcome if Molloy played the whole season with Revs 2.
Reports have him as potential #1 overall pick. Virginia forward Daryl Dike signs Generation adidas contract, eligible in 2020 SuperDraft January 7, 2020 3:15PM EST Benjamin Baer

Expected to? Perhaps. But if a Taylor Twellman, or Clint Dempsey, or a Michael Parkhurst were the draftee in question, I'm betting they would make the team. And while they are all draftees of the past, there are still gems in the rough like these guys potentially in the draft -- just the odds of getting one are lower.
So, the consensus seems to be that the Revs are picking 6th in a draft where there's a significant drop-off after pick #5. Ugh. The Consensus Top 5 Daryl Dike, F, Virginia Henry Kessler, D, Virginia Jack Maher, D, Indiana Dylan Nealis, RB, Georgetown Robbie Robinson, F, Clemson Even among the Top 5 players, there seems to be another separation where Dike, Maher, and Robinson should go in the Top 3. Miami has picks #1 and #3. If I were Miami, I'd want to grab one of the top defenders and one of the top forwards as depth. I'd go Maher at #1, wait to see if Nashville takes Dike or Robinson at #2, and then pick whoever is left at #3. That leaves Vancouver at #4 and Orlando at #5. Vancouver might be a wildcard - they could possibly look at Ryan Raposo, who's a GA player from Canada by way of Syracuse. There's also been some talk that if Dike and Robinson are off the board, Orlando might be tempted by hometown goal-scorer Cal Jennings, out of Central Florida. If I were Bruce Arena, I think I'd be hoping that Kessler slips. The Revs don't really have a developmental CB in the organization other than Woodruff, and they could certainly use some depth, at the very least. It's probably worth a call to Vancouver to see if you can shoot them a nominal amount of TAM to swap picks. But if they stick around at #6, I think they're looking at the following players: Tanner Beason, CB/LB, Stanford - Like I said, they need a young, developmental central defender. Maybe not as physically imposing as you'd ideally like to see out of a center back, but he's good in the air, and he's pretty mobile. Ryan Raposo, F/M, Syracuase - Back-to-back years where the the Revs pick a Canadian Forward/Midfielder out of Syracuse? Not the physical specimen that Buchanan is, but was a more productive goal-scorer. He's a Generation Adidas player. Jeremy Kelly, D/M, North Carolina - Another organizational hole is a young, developmental defensive midfielder. Kelly's not as good a player as Aaron Molloy, but he's got some versatility, and he won't take up an international roster spot. Garrett McLaughlin, F/M, SMU - Is 15 goals in 17 games good? Seems to be more of a wide midfielder, but as the stats show, he can finish if given a chance. Cal Jennings, F, Central Florida - Speaking of goal-scorers, how's 35 goals in your last 35 collegiate games? Doesn't "wow" you with his athleticism or skill, but he's super crafty. Miguel Berry, F, San Diego - As pointed out elsewhere on the web, Bruce Arena likes his big forwards, and Berry is 6-foot-3, 180 pounds of forward. Had pedestrian numbers prior to a huge senior year.
So predictions on what happens with the Revs first pick(s). Arena trades up? Trades out? Takes a Defender? best available player? All mock drafts I have seen have these guys going somewhere in the top 5:Nealis, Kessler, Maher. The other to guys very. My thought is the Revs take the best CB available. At 6 Kessler, Maher or Beason should be available. i doubt they go with an attacking player since they have a few already to develop. Thought?
They take the best available defender, regardless position, or forward with the first picks. They have enough midfielders right now.
No huge surprises so far. 1. Miami - Robbie Robinson, F, Clemson 2. Nashville - Jack Maher, D, Indiana 3. Miami - Dylan Nealis, RB, Georgetown Daryl Dike and Henry Kessler should go with the next two picks.
...or maybe not. Vancouver goes with the Canadian - Ryan Raposo. Revs should end up with either Daryl Dike or Henry Kessler.
