I watched like 3 minutes the other night because I was shocked to find it was live when I stumbled over it. During that time, two wrestlers came out doing an awkward introduction but they were over 6 feet away the whole time. I didnt stick around to see what kind of contact they would have while wrestling.

Well if they are doing a Wrestlemania they are definitely going to have lots of contact...

Now imagine if we had adequate testing... events would be able to continue indefinitely as all involved would be able to be tested regularly... Is that ever going to happen? Probably not.

BTW is WWE dragging Roman Reigns out for this? He has leukemia - definitely a preexisting condition...

This thread is panicky. The President says the economy will start back up on Easter.

That makes me panic. But not really, because I think he is bullshitting to keep the market going.

And if that doesn't freak you out, nothing will.

I wonder why Australia and New Zealand are not getting more credit for whatever they are doing to flatten their curve... In Australia peak new cases was back on March 22, with another spike on March 29 (cruise ship arrivals?) and since April 3rd no more than 200 cases.

New Zealand: 1 total death peak 146, no more than 89 new cases in a day since...

Erm, because Australia & New Zealand are kinda small-population countiries about a zillion miles away, and there's a gigantic clusterf*%#k right at home, with a clownshow live on TV every night.

With only 9 games left, it could be done and dusted by the end of June if they

Two games a week and it'll be done in a month. Restart in mid-May with only one game a week and it'll be done by mid-July.

I am really having a hard time imagining sports with crowds ever coming back... how do we go from locked at home to a packed stadium?

Americans have a very short memory. It will be slow and gradual, but you will see packed stadiums again.

Easy. First game I can go to, I am going.

We take risks every single day.

We could die driving to work.
We could die flying on vacation.
You could have a heart attack mowing the lawn.
You could get hit by a car while walking across the street.
I could choke on this apple I am about to eat.

    That’s life.

Yes, that’s true. Those decisions will only likely effect you. This is different, you know it is. Your decision if taken without robust testing and contact tracing infrastructure in place (Orangy the clown fail) would put us back to square one if you and others are asymptotic super spreaders.

Either you care about that or you don’t but the argument you wrote doesn’t apply to this event.

We are past that. Calling out gross incompetence is not bullshit. It isn’t even a matter of opinion at this point.

I work with the public and am in contact with hundreds of customers every day. I am way more of a threat to people now than i would be attending a sporting event if i were to be sick.

We need to call out the truth even when it may run counter what we want to hear. That’s the only way forward. Denying the obvious isn’t a way to learn

We also need to use some critical thinking and exit the echo chamber some people surround themselves with.
    Reality takes thought to comprehend.

What echo chamber do you think I’m in? This is real, it wasn’t addressed properly early enough, it is spreading and there is no treatment and people are dying. That’s actually backed up with first hand accounts and data.

I want S Korea style testing and contact tracing in place for both the virus and the antibodies before I would feel comfortable adding to MLS attendance.

I am so desperate for soccer I will watch matches without fans. That should be the soft open.
