Long hand, you have to find the figure in the exact middle of all the figures (aka "the distribution"). Short hand, in Excel: =Median()
Excellent sign for the league if even that Colorado match stayed comfortably over the 10k mark. Will interested in seeing how many matches we end up with below the 15k mark, which I would love to see become the new basement for MLS attendance figures.
As great as that would be, I can't imagine DC, Colorado, Columbus, NE, RSL and maybe a few others hitting that mark if the weather is as horrible as it was last weekend.
Exactly. This was the season opener so if we get more weather related bad luck, 10k will be hard to achieve.
Seattle and Cincy drew 199k on FS1. I believe that’s ahead of their usual MLS ratings. LA-Chicago got 174k. http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articl...-cable-originals-network-finals-3-2-2019.html
That Dynamo-Tigres crowd/attendance in Houston reminds me of Manchester United at Kansas City back in 2010. Arrowhead Stadium was mostly Red Devils supporters over Sporting KC supporters.
Was that the one KC won, unofficially kicking off their march toward relevance? Anyway, weird that THAT is the one that comes to your mind. How about the other 80% of MLS playing against Mexican teams?
If there were an odd number if games, it would be the "middle" number in terms of attendance. If 11 games, it would be #6. With 12, it would be the average of #7 (Columbus at 17,931) and #6 (SJ at 18,000) = 17,966.
How about we compromise. We have a fall to summer schedule, BUT we take december to early march off to avoid the harsh winter weather. Problem solved.
Why, MLS could even do what the CPL is doing and have the Spring season end on July 1, have a one week offseason, and have the Fall season start on July 8. Doesn’t that sound grand??
Hmm that sounds really familiar. 2018 MLS season started in March and ended in October + Playoffs 2019 MLS season started in March and ends in October + Playoffs December to beginning of March off.
Nope. The season ended in October. MLS Cup was december 8th. Not the same thing at all. Only 2 teams played up to that date. Season does not equal playoffs and final. Season and playoffs are 2 distinct things and not all teams participate in playoffs.
Dallas advertised the hell out of Zlatan, who did not even make the trip. Another Galaxy related marketing disaster for Dallas, who experienced this with Beckham.
Yup. I have a baddddd feeling he'll spend most of this season injured, but conveniently, only for away games.
They are absolutely unarguable not part of the season. The season is an official thing. I am not the one that defines it. MLS does. The season starts in March and ends in October. That is a fact that cannot be denied. I said "+ playoffs" because they are in addition to the season for only about half of the teams. Pretty simple. The playoffs are only for about half the teams and some only play a game or two. So more than half of the teams are done at the end of October and all but 2 done in November. In 2018 (23 teams total): - 15 teams were done by 11/2 - 19 teams were done by 11/11 - 21 teams were done by 11/29 There were only 8 teams still playing after 11/1 And in 2019 MLS cup is moved up a month.
OK, so if the season ends with the last regular season game. Then why bother with the playoffs and MLS CUP. So in my opinion the season ends with the last game of the season, which in this case was December 8th. It doesn't matter how many of the teams are left playing.
