On the bright side, Miami still doesn't have an MLS team - there's hope for promotion yet! edit - and SRFC scores a goal to tie the game in extra time.
The important thing is that @Sounders78 has to settle for a draw after leading into the final seconds.
Good job grabbing the point back. Dom Jakubek just laid an egg today. Misjudged the flight of the ball on two crosses leading to two goals. He should have snagged the ball in the air on the first goal, but went in the wrong direction when he left his line and the ball sailed over his head. On the second goal, I'm not sure he would have saved the shot, but anything would have been better than going out and flapping at the cross. I assume it's a one-time thing, because controlling the box is normally one of his strengths.
I hate that so many Murrlindurs say Warshington. ******** Maryland. Somehow I thought the Texas game was yesterday. I'm tired. I don't care to wait another hour for it. Fix it.
I've been a Seattle sports fan since the 1970s. I'm quite accustomed to watching victory escape our clutches.
Twellman in the most Twellman way possible butchers The Notorious BIG's "Hypnotize" in the closing moments of the broadcast. I have to take a walk after hearing that.
Gonna need that for the Texas thingy about to happen In other news, JSB just liked a retweet of mine, so life is golden, like a blonde!
I'm thinking about doing yard work instead. A lot of my trees got absolutely shredded by snow this winter. (And some of that damn snow is still on the ground!) So I have a lot to clean up and cut up into firewood, and a lot of trees to stake up straight. That's better than watching Texas soccer, right?
I'll defer to the people who've actually done the studies, but one theory is that it's evolutionary, as I said. If you don't believe it's chromosomally linked, I can't argue with you. But there is a difference, demonstrably, so there has to be an explanation. It's not one you're likely to find on Bigsoccer, though, I figure.
My PhD is in biological anthropology. I say that to explain why I am skeptical. There are many "evolutionary explanations" for everything under the sun that, when exposed to actual light, evaporate. I think this hypothesis (not theory, for the record) is one of them. In fact, the olecranon fossa that is found in females more often than males could hypothetically allow females to throw more powerfully than males, all other things being equal, given they would be able to get a greater throwing angle (or whatever the appropriate term is). Of course, other things aren't equal and males have more muscle on average than females. I think the answer is as simple as that. I've not researched it, so I could very well be wrong. I'm just skeptical that it has anything to do with hunting v gathering before the Neolithic.
So, in your semi-professional opinion, it is having more muscle and longer limbs which helps someone throw harder? Sounds controversial.
