The "USL Network" commentator doing these Reno 1868 highlights does not know how to pronounce Nevada.
While waiting for MLS to appear on ESPN, I'm left wondering why women are incapable of throwing overhand and require a larger ball?
Women aren't incapable, though the gap in ability to throw between the genders is one of the largest physical gaps there is. Some theorize it's because the ability to throw was important for hunters way back in the day and those males with the best ability to throw (and kill) were the most likely to survive and pass on their genes, but it's just a theory. As for the size of the ball used, why do some men in Chicago require a 16-inch softball as opposed to the 10-12 incher used by women?
So there's a gene on the Y chromosome that relates to throwing? I don't buy it. Having studied osteology, I appreciate there are significant differences in the pelvis. There is a slight difference in the distal humerus (females are more likely to have an olecranon fossa than males), but I haven't seen how that actually translates to being able to throw. Yes, males have greater muscle attachments on the humerus but why would that mean females have to throw underhand - especially since one bats with the upper body as well?
I think I owe NYCFC fans an apology. I listened to the game in my car for about 15 minutes, turning it off after the third goal. My bad guys. If Atlanta fans want to start a gofundme page for gas money so I can drive my car around listening to games, I'm your guy.
I love Dom, but this goal was on him. Misjudged the flight of the ball and left his line in the wrong direction, only to have the ball sail over him.
ATL needs to be more willing to put Carleton out there. No reason not to give him some mins when up two goals.
