*shrug* Is that not the case for most clubs nowadays? If a rich benefactor cuts funding, then the club is set for a tumble down the pyramid until a new benefactor is found.
Maybe I'm too naive or an optimist but I'd hope that's no longer the case for most clubs. Especially as I hate the whole sugar daddy phenomena. When you're starting a team or investing in the infrastructure I get it, but if you're needed to maintain operating costs then that's a bad model, and I'm of the impression MLS is at least trying to escape that trap. Some clubs are still there but others are leading a way out. Anyway...
