More butts in seats at the Stadium today compared to RBA yesterday though the weather was marginally worse on Saturday…lower wind chill... Guessing butts in seats cap was wider than the announced 19,375K at RBA…24,249K at the Stadium… Age and alcohol made the day seem rather pleasant to me actually lol…though the roofing at RBA may have helped with wind...
Well, know your league's fanbase has matured when you play a soccer match in the snow and the stadium is packed. #Minn/Atlanta All the worries about Minnesota's fanbase being too small, should be indefinitely put the rest.
It's nice to see. Not only is it a good sign of the sticking power of the sport/league, but shows that Minnesotans aren't lying about being hearty folk

It is time for something to be done about Chicago. Are they trying to sell? If not the league needs to step in and do something. Not sure what. 3rd largest city in US. Sad.
Looks like the Dos Santos effect has come to an end in l.a. The Galaxy don't seem to have a very stable fan base. Few season ticket holders and they rely entirely on loud signings to bring in the crowds. Lafc entering the league might just be the beginning of the end of the galaxy.
Dude, this isn't some crazy opinion of a raving pessimist. It's a commonly held belief over on the Galaxy message board that the days of the LA Galaxy are now numbered. They could be in San Diego as soon as 2020!!!
Can we stop with this every week? The Galaxy 2nd home game attendance is right on track. 2009: 16,709 2010: 19,805 2011: 24,998 2012: 18,466 2013: 19,117 2014: 20,847 2015: 19,087 2016: 25,667 2017: 20,982
The Gals have a reputation of treating the first few gams like pre-season then picking up a summer DP, before finally getting their act together right before plays. Now that was Bruce working his magic, but expect to see an attendance boost once a summer DP is signed, not sure if their new coach will be able to pull of the end of season push.
Galaxy's next home match is a Friday night so don't expect that to draw well. In fact, our first Saturday evening home game is not till end of April. That is always our best drawing time slot.
a playbook they seem to be following. (http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/39213267). kidding aside, this little league has sure grown up when the biggest things we need to worry about are 1) early season (ie. cold wintry weather) attendance in Chicago only being 13k and 2) the survival of the Galaxy.
While I am almost 100% sure Van Damme is a DP it is interesting that MLS Soccer does not categorize him as such on the official rosters. This has been pointed out to them on social media but it has not been fixed (assuming it was a mistake to begin with). https://www.mlssoccer.com/rosters/2017/la-galaxy
Keep in mind these terrible numbers are "tickets distributed" not really attendance or even tickets sold. I bet there were half that many people at the game on Saturday. To be fair, it was 25 degrees out, but that number is not significantly different than a midsummer Saturday game. Maybe more of the "distributed ticket" holders are actually there in July... It has been years since a sell-out at TP.
Keep in my mind that everyone in these threads knows that it is tickets distributed and that what you're describing isn't even remotely new or unusual. The difference now is that instead of a struggling team announcing less than 10k tickets distributed and only getting less than 5k showing up, they are now announcing 13k tickets distributed and only getting 6.5k showing up.
