That's just ridiculous. Actually, that's not a bad goal. The ball swerved away from the keeper. Ya gotta tip your hat.
I'm not terribly shocked, surprised, or disappointed with the halftime score in Houston. Sporting has only one shot on goal. All the near misses are meaningless. To expect more than one goal from one shot is stupid. Our backline is makeshift and lacking experience, and our goalkeeper has zero confidence right now, so we're going to give up goals. But the one shot on goal statistics isn't particularly shocking given the history of the franchise. I think Kansas City is the MLS all-time leader in shots, but at the bottom of the list (of the original teams) in shots on goal. And while I type this, it's a Houston goal and another off-target (well offside) shot by SKC. Meh.
I played hide and seek with my 5-year-old for halftime of the RSL/NE match. When I came back, my wife told me that the entire halftime was non-stop Rachael Bonnetta. Can anyone say, "Overexposed?" I thought she was OK in small doses when I first saw her doing the team previews at the start of the season. It's now all RB all the time. I mute the TV whenever she's on.
So, moving on to bourbon to end this night. Due to my lack of drinking straight whiskey I expect to fall asleep quicker than a Union player marking a player on the back post.
Camden Yards isn't letting fans leave the ballpark. [EDIT] They're now letting fans leave some exits.
Tonight, for sure, after the first 15 minutes... but, an impossibly depleted lineup (dressed 16) will test the depth of any team.
O's just got a walk-off in extra innings. The remaining crowd leaving might make things interesting. ******** the O's.
