You know SKC is going to have a lot of fun come Concachampions time if they foul like they did in the end. Note I'm not mad just calling it now.
25 fouls against SKC?! JEEBUS. What a game that was, can't believe there weren't more chances. Great atmosphere, wish you guys could have been there.
With the way SKC has been playing this year, it could be a good sign for you. We seem to play one good game and then one to two bad games, rinse and repeat. Of course, you were already unlucky that we had a bad game against DC once this year and still came away with a probably undeserved win... so there is that.
I'm not really sure what your beef is here. Are you jealous of two other teams striking up a rivalry without consulting you? Is there some rivalry "purity test"? Plenty of rivalries don't stand the test of time. It's certainly not United/Red Bulls or Sounders/Timbers, but it definitely means something to the players and fans of both teams at this point. Why not step back and let the Sporting and Dynamo fans figure out whether this is a rivalry or not?
So do I! After the kick in the teeth Wednesday night by Seattle it would've been sweet salvation to have been there in person.
I find myself hating SKC more and more every time we play them. So whatever that means in your rivalry debate.
I been to all the SKC - HOU games in Houston since 2010 and I hate and hate Collin more than any player in the MLS (right now). SKC-HOU is more of a rivalry than DAL-HOU i think
I think MLS made a mistake when they moved Kansas City to the Eastern Conference. To be honest, Kansas City has never had a full on rivalry. There was potential with Dallas until Chicago joined the league. We had some titanic post-season wars with Los Angeles, but that was one-way traffic - it ain't a rivalry if they don't really care one way about you. But the history was there. I think they should've moved Dallas east just to have them in the same conference as Chicago and Houston. Sure, Dallas has had some fun with Colorado and Salt Lake, but they'll always be the third banana in that trio of teams. Dallas/Houston and even Dallas/Chicago would've made switching Dallas east make more sense in my mind.
Eh. I'm not sure why the league's kept Houston and Dallas in separate conferences since Montreal joined the league. Either Houston's going to be the East's 10th team or the West's 10th team, so obviously it makes the most sense to put them in the other conference from Dallas. At this point, I don't even give a shit about rivalries. I mean, it was nice of them to include the Houston-Dallas game in Rivalry Day, but you know, a game against Houston has less bearing on where FCD finishes in the West than a game against Chivas. Likewise Houston and, say, Montreal. So why even bother?
We're all stuck in the middle of the country, but I think it would be best if Dallas, Houston, and KC were all in the same conference.
that's the question when the 20th team enters.. Houston has to go West if the 20th team is NY City, right? or does SKC go back first?
It will likely happen sooner or later, since most possible expansion teams are in the east side of the country.
