There has been a campaign for a second New York area team--the sticking points have been getting an investor group and a soccer specific stadium...

I will believe it when I see it... right now there might be two other cities who are ahead of New York, which ones I don't know...

Has anyone got a link to the statement made by Garber about the league expansion? It's mentioned a bit somewhere on another thread, and there was a short note in this morning's CoCo Times but I'd like to see something a bit more extensive. I looked on MLSnet, but couldn't find anything.

There will eventually be a second New York team, but hopefully it won't be under the Cosmos name. I've seen this guy try to wring up support for a Cosmos franchise.

The Cosmos is a dead franchise. There would be no connection between the NASL franchise and the MLS franchise. None of the tradition, history and prestige of the Cosmos name would be with the club. It would be the Cosmos in name only.
