Slice and dice, dice and slice... are you still trying to figure out who, when and where your favorite MLS team is playing next season? I reformatted the 2003 MLS Schedule into a Single Table. As in, one grid showing home vs. away matchups for the entire season with national TV dates... Check it out. If you're a real MLS junkie, I promise you'll like it. Or, if you've got an idea on how to make it better, let me know and I'll see if I can do it.
Thanks! That was nice and very convenient! I printed it out. Once I put the results next to the dates, it makes it very easy to see how teams did against each other.
Very cool stuff, sljohn. And as Couso suggests, perhaps you could replace the date of the match with the match result once the game is played. You might also want to look into putting the team's home and away records at the end/bottom of the rows/columns, but perhaps that would give it too cluttered an appearance.
Dang IT!!! I don't unnerstand this dang table! How is this simple for us simple heads? Please go back to the drawing board and come out with something easier to understand. Your Pal Hipity
LOL. Maybe it's just not for everyone, hipity. Great suggestions. I do plan (time permitting) to update it during the season with results. Once the season starts, I'll have to see if I can put in a home/away tally without cluttering things up too much.
One recent change to the TV schedule: the Burn announced today that their home opener on 4/12 vs. LA will be shown on ESPN2. Go Burn!
Thanks for the heads up on the schedule change. I'll update the site when I get back home this weekend.
New and Improved Single Table Schedule Thanks to all for the kind words. I got inspired and added several new features to the schedule. [Warning: if you have a Netscape browser, you may have to use a static version instead.] Check out the toggle buttons just below the table for game times, national TV, and other details. You can also check out the schedule week by week. Once the season starts I'll update with results, too. Enjoy!
It's also in my master schedule http://www.ibiblio.org/footy/ecg_2003.xls To limit the club calendar to MLS, just select the "league" tab and set "begins with MLS" Andy
I've updated the schedule to include the national TV dates on FSW. Once the season begins I'll start including results as well.
I like the way you've posted the results and home and away records -- it's more informative (and easier to read) than the setup mlsnet.com uses on its league statistics page. BTW, in the national TV table, what does "ENG" stand for?
