I didn't know Bob Bradley's brother is a minor league hitting coach. Talented family.

Honestly, I feel casuals are more tolerant towards soccer (minus the Glenn Beck outliers) than soccer fans are more tolerant towards other sports.

I believe the Bradley bro caught a Nolan Ryan no hitter.

    From the article:

Fortunately for Talbot, he returned just in time to watch USA middle infielder Landon Donovan score the game-winning goal in the 91st minute to help the American squad advance

That wasn't my point. My point was that Major League BASEBALL's website was posting a SOCCER clip.

How often does that happen, if EVER?

I'd say this is very true for a certain generation of fans

I agree. I would say the cut off line is somewhere near 1975 or so

I think there are two groups. The ones who are still bitter that the NASL failed and soccer didn't displace American Sports and a generation that started following after 2002 that doesn't appreciate the impact of MLS and love to be poseurs for clubs they'll never watch live.

I actually used to work at MLB.com. There are many people who work there who are big soccer fans. MLB.com also does (or did when I worked there several years ago) a lot of stuff for MLS, and the MLS website.

Fortunately for me, I wasn't poisoned by the NASL's (born 1970) failure or it's fans that seem to think if they could have just made it to one WC, the NFL would have folded under the pressure of soccer and we'd have 4 divisions below the NASL. I grew up playing baseball, football and soccer.

And unlike the spolied generation that seems to feel victimized by every sports radio jock and need to bash football/baseball/basketball/hockey because they need Euro validation, I have no need of such. My heart has room for my college teams, my NFL team and my MLS team & the National team.

yeah i follow my NFL team real close and watch college FB games even though i dont have a favorite
i think true athletes are able to recognize the skill and athleticism it takes to play those other sports
