I grew up in Ireland so I never saw him but now my little ones watch him and I actually think it's a good show for them. He was a good man.

At the risk of sounding like I'm making fun of this truely great man at the time of his death (I'M NOT!!!!), they should but his coffin on a trolley.

    Vive le AFC!

I was always amazed at how well he could communicate at the kids' level without ever being phony or condescending. That was a gift. Thanks, neighbor.

NPR's Diane Rehm show will have one of Fred Rogers' last interviews on 2/28, and it should be at 11 a.m. EDT.

It might be stremed on npr.org as well. It was a good hour of radio.

The world has lost a good man. His show was everything parents wanted. No violence (even animated, kiddy-violence). It was a great kid-friendly show.

My Dad(RIP) told me he was a deadly sniper in the Korean war.He couldn't give me a reference but since he was an ex-soldier,I figured he knew more about it than I did so took his word for it.

No, but I drank like Chef Brocket today. :)

I hope that they continue to show the program on PBS. A man of peace and love gone when we needed one.

I always thought he sucked, even as a kid. I quickly turned to Transformers everytime his show came on. That or Uncle Floyd.

RIP Mr. R This song ended most of the later shows so it seems appropriate....

    It's Such a Good Feeling
    © 1970 Fred M. Rogers

It's such a good feeling to know you're alive.
It's such a happy feeling: You're growing inside.
And when you wake up ready to say,
"I think I'll make a snappy new day."
It's such a good feeling, a very good feeling.
    The feeling you know that
I'll be back when the day is new
And I'll have more ideas for you.
And you'll have things you'll want to talk about.
    I will too.
It's such a good feeling, a very good feeling.
The feeling you know that we're friends.

    Very sad.

One of the few times I have been truly upset about the passing of a Public figure.

A number of good articles on his impact are published here:

I was very sad over his passing. The world needs more people like Mr. Rogers in it.

  15. R.I.P. Mr. Rogers. You will be missed. The world will never see another person like you, and it will be the worse for it.
