FYI on FSWD right now there is a Major Indoor Soccer League game on...San Diego Sockers v Kansas City. In the booth doing the color is Mac. Usually FSWD reairs games but I am too lazy to look at their schedule. So how many of you folks go to Sockers games? What is average attendance? What is the average salary of a MISL player? I still like my idea of an off-season WUSA indoor league.
In the first quarter they were talking about how some of the players are new to the Sockers (I think) and then..... Mac was talking about how last season out of 21 games, the Spirit had 19 different lineups and how it was tough to find their rhythm. At the start of the second quarter they talked briefly about the growth of women's soccer. Mmm...my pizza is done!
Mac said her biggest goal was during the 1996 Olympics. Omid is now talking about the draft and how they picked up good players. Got Kerry Connors from Philly. He feels the team is more balanced this year. They are now talking about how Torero is a great stadium. Screw this. I'm gonna go take a nap.
I actually went to that game vs. Kansas City last Friday with Tsunami and we saw Mac and spiritpr in the broadcast booth. Cox Cable 4 showed the game live and it was rebroadcast at least once last week, but that is interesting to find out that FSWD is showing it as well.
FSW shows a MISL game every Friday evening, but it's always a game from one or two weeks ago. I was at that game too!!! A pretty good one!!
Scott Kaplan is a former NFL kicker who has been doing a morning radio show here in San Diego, with Billy Ray Smith. They were on XTRA690 until it became a dual station with some other station in LA that wasn't doing well. But they are now the morning show on 'the Mighty' 1090. That station is the only one of the three sports stations in San Diego that actually cover SD sports (the third is 800, which is the ESPN SportsRadio outlet - it has a very weak signal, especially compared 690 and 1090 - they are at least 50,000 watts, based out of Mexico.) When doing his radio show, Kaplan is a bit too much of a wise ass for me. But I did think that he did a good job on the Sockers game, and he gave Mac a chance to get in her comments.
Yeah The Might 1090 has been getting mad coverage on this website called sdradio.net. Do they cover the Sockers on that station? I mean he called the game so I'm guessing yeah.
