Here is another Iranian who is making the news these days:

Maybe he and his investors should buy Perspolis or Esteghlal and save it from the incompetent bums who are running them! :)

This is an mazingly eye opening interview with former coach of Sepahan, Edson Tavares, by Nader Jahanfard.

It is just an example of how corrupt our football structure is, and in a way explains the reason behind the fans' frustrations regarding underachievments of Iranian football. The corruption is mind buggling!

Mehdi jAn, I do not know him or his work to be a judge of that, but it saddens me to read about such corruption in our football.

The fact is that every foreign coach who goes to work in Iran gets initially ompressed and delighted with the raw talent that he could have to work with, but then all the corruption and incompetence disillusions every single one of them and off they go.

I burnsme to think that Arie Haan got tens of thousands of Dollars, and may recieve even more in damages, for less than a month of real work in Iran! At the same time, the players are not getting paid and their wages are always late.

We have a long way to go before we are ready to be able to take advantage of good coaches who would be willing to come to Iran under the right conditions.

OK, I know that I have been one of the critics of the lack of organization in out/Iranian football, but I think sometimes I lose prespective, and miss the fact that this is not unique to Iranian football. Case in point, here is a bit from La Liga.

Anyway, I still reserve the right to criticize lack of organization where I see it in our football :)

    Guys,

This guy (Simoes) is really good at long term planning and building up from the youth level. Read this interview he had yesterday (In Farsi):

Guys, this is funny. Looks like Aussies have now seen what we TM fans have been screaming bloody murder about for years!

FOr those of you who may not read Persian, the article talks about Aussies complaint about time wasting tactics of Bahrain and Kuwait. Apparently, the Aussies now know what "Grass (meaning pitch, not weed!!! ;) ) Rolling" is all about! :)

    Hi guys,

I wrote a list of my top 10 obvious and easy to do things to do for IFF that would help Iranian football in 2007. Let me know what your thoughts are.

Hi guys, I had an email from former Sepahan coach Edson Tavares in response to a short article I had written. He wanted to share his thoughts on a few points mentioned in my article. You can read his comments here:

    Hi guys,

Here is Kaveh's latest interview with Rene Simoes. What I find interesting is how, according to Simoes, the IFF and GN both screwed things up over the age of the U23 team players.

    Hi guys,

Those of you who read Persian (and there are very many of you I am sure) have probably read about the ultimatum issued to Iran's football officials and Organization of Physical Education by Mr. Safahi-Farahani who is chairing the FIFA sanctioned six-man committee in charge of coordinating the football reforms. If you have not here is Mr. Safahi's interview with ISNA in Persian:

    http://www.lastkick.com/fa/?p=763

and here is a report I wrote about the situation in English:
