O.K. this isn't huge, but I was watching the Nuggets play on Friday the 21st. During a break a commercial for the Pepsi Center trading company was run, informing Denver fans of the place to buy all their sports gear. To my surprise they flashed a picture of a Rapids jersey along with pictures of Nuggets, Avalanche, Crush, and Mammoth gear. I was at the Pepsi center about two weeks ago, and didn't notice any Rapids marketing at the time. I hope that this is a good sign of KSE working the Rapids into the mix.
I think this is exactly why it is good that KSE bought the Rapids. He will try to push his other teams along with the Rapids and vise versa. His sports shops will have Rapids gear. There might be some short term downers, like merging the front office staffs, but overall KSE knows how to run great sports franchises and will benefit the Rapids.
I agree...it was nice to have the banners outside of Coors Field and the Pepsi Center this year, but it'll be even nicer to crack the door inside the house. Frankly, I don't know what to expect in terms of Kroenke running the Rapids. It doesn't do us any good to get all worked up about problems when they haven't even happened yet.
The Pepsi Center store has a pretty decent mix of all KSE teams. I was there a couple of weeks ago and all they have at the moment is Rapids replica jerseys, I'm sure they'll have more stuff as things get more organized.
I saw that add during an Avs game and was way pumped. I think in the long term KSE will help the team far more than they harm it.
