Should be an interesting second leg, hopefully Vancouver can pull off a tie or victory.

Umm, if your expecting a tie you might as well watch another game man. Its 2 leg series, total goals wins.... meaning it wont be a TIE!!

You'd think Americans would catch on to these rules after last years playoff format was the same way.

No wonder he got it wrong. Its not the Americans who need the help, sorry to all the Americans!!!

It's gonna be like 2020 by the time Canadian fans figure out these rules. I guess soccer just isn't big in Canada eh

The comment about the tie was perfectly valid.

If the Whitecaps pull of a tie (tied in regulation, tied in extra time), then they force PK's in which case, it's anyone's game.

If the Whitecaps win outright, in regulation time or extra time, when they advance.

    I knew what they meant.

Actually you are the only one to question it. In fact your own Rochester announcer (who is mainly clueless) said during tonights elimination of Rochester that all Richmond had to do was play for a tie. (Even he realized you can hope for a tie and win it in OT or PK's).

wow, i gotta get out of this USL board, i'm surrounded with retards.

Rhinos/Richmond WAS NOT A TIE. See, the winner of the PK's is awarded a "GOAL" making the scoreline NOT A TIE ANYMORE.

And Don Stevens, dude, never quote him again. He knows NOTHING about soccer. Ask any fan, they will tell you. He knows some hockey stuff (he does Amerk games too) but hes the worst broadcaster in the world, for both sports.

    Speaking of retards.

First off, you can play for a tie, then try to win in OT and PK's thats what the whole gist of the conversation was.

And no, you do not get awarded a goal for winning on PK's. Better go read your soccer rule book again.

The actual result of a game that is decided on penalty kicks is a DRAW with the team that scored more goals in the penalty kicks ADVANCING ON PK'S.

I already knew that Don Stevens knows nothing about soccer, thats why I mentioned that even he said that a team could play for the draw.

Since you don't know the proper rules regarding PK's I guess you two are in the same boat.

Okay Rhinos Boy, how about this..

On a-league.com tonight, we originally posted the final of the Vancouver-Milwaukee game as 2-1 Milwaukee in OT. Makes sense doesn't it?

Wrong! I get an e-mail directly from USL public relations that the final was actually 1-1. It was a draw.

    Straight from the horse's mouth.

The Rampage advanced in "series OT". That also means the Rhinos-Kickers match tonight was officially a draw. The Kickers advanced on series PK's.

The Rhinos got their draw but lost in series PK's. Case closed.

Mybe it's time you did. Here's the final score as listed on A-League.com.

    Richmond 0
    @ Rochester 0

Heres the game score from MatchNight in America:

    A-LEAGUE A-LEAGUE PLAYOFFS · Frontier Field · Rochester, NY
Rochester Raging Rhinos 0 Richmond Kickers 0
    FULL TIME-9/21

Yep, two 0-0 draws listed. Of course it's the American way to say that a teams "wins" on penalty kicks, but in fact, the games are a draw, and one team advances on penalty kicks. No goal is awarded for winning on penalty kicks, unless they award it to the invisible man.

Well Allison it is obvious we were typing responses at the same time.

It's sad when someone is obviously wrong and tells others to look at the FIFA rule book when obviously they haven't themselves.
