Haven't watched the game yet but have it recorded. Just found out Milan beat Chievo at home 1-0 to mark our first clean sheet of the season! Who would have thought Alex would be Romagnoli's partner in this lol
Finally! Apparently we were lucky though - there was a goal called off that shouldn't have been. Still, 3 points are 3 points. The schedule up to the winter break is good for us as well. During the next 9 matches, we will play 4 of the 5 bottom-ranked teams, as well as Atalanta and Sampdoria. Lazio (who lost today to Atalanta) and Juventus (who are stuck at 12 points and lost to Sassuolo) are also beatable, although we will probably lose to Roma. The Monday away match against Lazio will be interesting. If we win, we will overtake them. We haven't won 3 matches in a row in ages, but Lazio do strike me as vulnerable.
Also, sign of the times: We started the match with 8 Italians ... not a single one of whom starts for the Azzurri. In fact, Montolivo is the only one who has played for the NT at all in ages.
De Sciglio played last international break as a starter, Antonelli played within the last year and got called past selection, Romagnoli is a mainstay in the u21 team, Bonaventura got called up on Conte's last selection, Abate was on the past euro and world cup team and got a few caps under Conte? Poli I believe gets randomly called up by Conte, Calabria broke his u21 duck last international break, Donnarumma will be stellar hopefully for the youth team, Bertolacci is a Conte favorite, Cerci was on last year's world cup squad in Brazil. Only Azzurri career looks to be over for sure is Nocerino and Abbiati
