There are very good reasons to fire coaches this late. Those reasons include: 1. To deliver a message that the play is unacceptable. Since you cannot really fire players the coaches are the obvious targets to get a message accross. 2. Teams often have a play "bump" and play better for a few matches after a firing and there are only a very few matches left this season so a play "bump" is a positive thing. 3. At this point any change will, most probably, be a positive step. and there are others. I would say that the entire coaching staff should be fired as the stated goal for this season was to make the Champion's league and, while there is still a chance, it will require winning the last few matches and that is VERY unlikely with the current lack of leadersip. There is also the stupidity factor where the entire team acts collectively stupid and that comes, in large part, from the coaching staff. The owners are also at fault for giving the current coaches too much time to fail. Yes, the Pulisic injury and his lack of production in 2026 is a concern BUT that does not explain the lack of team effort even when he does not play/produce. BTW: Leao has not been much, if any, better.

While there is very little to find issue with in this post depending on the results in a match you can have no effect on is just a short step from disaster. If I were coach (or any other leader on the team) I would do all I could to make sure that the team does not think that way. They should believe, with all their being, that they must win to have any chance at playing Champion's league soccer next season. I know it is nearly impossible to keep this kind of info from the supposed adults on the team but the position is so fragile that any thinking that there is another way in is a good way to assure failure.
