Is Mike the best Goalie in the league? I say yes
In the American section, they really don't like him at all.

Could of had thuram instead of Okafor and chukwozee.

How's kvara these days? His translator must of been feeding him the newspaper clippings hehe. Bought his own hype

Is he better than Sommer and Szezsney? I'm not sure if he is better than Sommer at least.

Sommer has the best defense in Serie A playing in front of him. He is playing on easy mode.

I know, but I've seen him play for Monchengladbach before and I was pretty impressed. I feel he is very underrated.

Sommer also strong for his country.

If maignan was white, would this be a debate?

Maignan not even close to the best performing Goalkeeper in the league. High profile team, however. Certainly wasn't last year as the grades gave to Di Gregorio. Provedel had more Clean Sheets. 2 years ago I'd say Meret was. Szczesny solid again this year as he's been for a few years now. Maignan's been better than Rui Patricio though, that's about it.

Would really have to do a deep dive with metrics like the one I posted about Vicario this season in England.

But with Save Percentage (kinda misleading as it doesn't classify the difficulty of Shot) Sommer 1st, Di Gregorio 2nd, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic of Torino 3rd.

Only if he was a quarterback.

    Expected Goals Rating

Not the least bit surprised: Di Gregorio clear above all. People forget how immense he's been for a while now. Sommer 2nd. Terraciano of Fiorentina and Carnesecchi of Atalanta 3rd and 4th. Maignan in fact on the wrong side of the advanced stats. Kinda surprising. Thought he'd be level at worst.

Meret is another goalkeeper who looked good because of the defensive play of the guys in front of him. Ospina was beating him for the starting spot for a while.

    Very true.

I defer to you but I thought Meret was better the year before Napoli won (i think the first year after Ospina left). He kinda digressed again.

See even Provedel's stats can be misleading.

He had the most clean sheets but only means Lazio had the best team Defence. His advanced stats aren't that good at all.

You gonna like this one, Rossonero!

Advanced stats list the birthday boy, Gianluigi Donnarumma to Thibault Courtois and Yann Sommer.

Mike Maignan's stats spit him out and rate his similar players to Juan Musso of Udinese and the Rennes GK. Also Manuel Neuer who just returned from a broken leg and has a small sample size.

    :D

    Or in Maignan's case, bad.

Untrue statement. Rui Patricio let in some bad goals as seen by anybody watching Roma matches. Stats show he was underperforming in every category and matched what was seen. Absolutely no stat made him look good. That's why Roma dropped him.

I honestly think these are the ranks for goalkeepers in Serie A:

    1. Sommer
    2. Szczesny
    3. Mike Magnian
    4. Perin (YES seriously, he’s number 4 despite being a backup for Juventus)
    5. Provedel
    6. Skorupski

Is that including UCL as well? I know they conceded one against Dortmund. Or is that just Serie A?

Oh I don't know. Likely includes the 2 versus Rennes last week and the one versus BvB. Maybe Coppa Italia as well, if any. It has to because if it were 11 in League play, that would seem high.
