While the Gunners are not yet undefeated in the Premiership, I wanted to get some opinions on who would win between the undefeated teams of AC Milan team from 1992 against Arsenal. I did not get to see that Milan team play and so I dont know enough about them to make a prediction. Thanks for your opinions.

AC Milan was undefeated in Europe.... their streak crossed over two seasons. Arsenal, while is an achievement, is nowhere near.

    Terrible comparison.

The Milan team of those years was one of exceptional class. Probably the best team ever to walk the earth.

The Milan team of that era was truly awesome, they were the reason I follow Milan. In Baresi,Gullit,Maldini,Rijkaard and Van Basten they had 5 of the finest individuals ever to play the game. They were ably supported by such excellent players as Tassotti, Rossi, Costacurta, Albertini, Donadoni (I'm not quite sure if Papin had joined by then but i think so). They were supreme, the finest team I have ever seen by a mile.

I think Milan had the better defense, plus Gullit would dominated the midfield. The Henry v Maldini match up would of been great, as they would of both been around the same age.

    2-0 Milan
    Van Basten 2 goals.

OK, who are the 3 knuckleheads who voted for Arsenal? Please step forward and be exposed.

Same here. That was one of the best teams ever, and the reason I follow Milan.

So yeah, I voted Milan on this one. I'd take Milan of 2004 over Arsenal.

I think it was lanman in a thread of great teams who put Milan 89-95 up in a trio of the greatest team ever alongside Kispest Honved 1950-56 and Real Madrid 1956-62. I have to agree with him but still put that Milan team in pole position.

I could talk all day about that side, but won't bore everyone. For now.

I think only 3 arsenal players would make it into the milan team....henry, viera and Pires (not sure about that) but i still wouldn't count out Arsenal, they a re a fantastic team.

To be honest I think that the players who would get in would be Campbell in place of of Costacurta and Pires for Albertini. Henry would struggle to get a starting place in front of Papin or Van Basten and Vieira would never displace Rijkaard.

No way does any Arsenal defender get into the GREATEST backline in the history of football. Tassotti-Baresi-Costacurta-Maldini is untouchable. Papin didn't arrive until the following year(and I think Henry was better anyway) so Milan played Massaro and Simone opposite Van Basten. Henry certainly is better than both those players. Pires was a different player than Albertini. I would compare him to Donadoni and imo Donadoni was better.

I know they were the best backline ever, but man for man Campbell is better than Costacurta.

You are right about Papin as well now that I think about it, he came at the end of the season. I'm not sure who was better between him and Henry, when we signed him he was the best striker in the world after Van Basten

As for Pires I realise the difference between him and Albertini, but if you played Pires then you could play Gullit through the middle which he preferred.

    My side would then be

    ------------Rossi
    Tassoti Campbell Baresi Maldini
    Donadoni Gullit Rijkaard Pires
    -------Van Basten Henry

I'd have to call Milan 92 the better team.

Considering that most of the Milan players are in their late Thirties and early Forties, I'd have to go with the Gunners...........
