turns out the guy actually was good for at least one thing:

    6. You'll hear some people say that Nowak's the best playmaker ever in MLS, and some who will disagree vehemently. I'll say if it weren't for one Mike Duhaney, who twice took out Nowak without ugly tackles that sent No. 10 to the IR, the pro-Nowak argument would probably be stronger. Doesn't help that after the second take-out, Duhaney bragged "Whenever I hit that guy, he doesn't get up."

Does anyone remember the incident(s)? or was he with the Metroscum when it happened?

I have been trying to think of when it was and for the life of me, I have not been able to recall it.

For every two reckless tackels Mike Duhaney made, I'll show you 10 that Nowark made. I'm glad the hack is gone. I'm only sorry it wasn't a debilitating injury that made him retire.

You know, I like Jeff Bradley. Really I do.

Unlike some people on BS, I don't dismiss everything he writes just because he wrote it.

Because, frankly, he has done yeoman's work on MLS and deserves some credit for some perceptive and entertaining columns over the years.

But when he starts writing about his brother's side (now previous side) he pulls on the blinders and becomes as soppy and starry eyed as any 17 year old Ultra wannabe.

In this piece, he makes Nowak sound like a god, the Avenging Warrior of soccer, instead of, as my distinguished colleague myshap so aptly phrased it, the "hack" that he was.

Jeff, you were right the first time: bringing in all those Eastern European thugs did nothing to advance the cause of soccer in the US in general or MLS in particular. Good riddance.

Atleast those EASTERN EUROPEAN THUGS have won a MLS CUP CHAMPIONSHIP, and 2 US OPEN CUP CHAMPIONSHIPS.

And for Duhaney all he was good for is being a "HACK". By the way where is the sack of ************ anyway.

Duhaney is playing for a Bundesliga 2 club that's on it's way to being promoted to the Bundesliga. Where's Nowark now? Off with the rest of the Polish in Sh!tcago getting welfare.

    Try 2002.

    Or 2003.

I guess losing to a bunch of 16 and 17 year olds really DOES put you in the shitter, eh?

Now that the Fire is no longer a million over the cap, I wonder how they will do this year?

Duhaney got three minutes as a late-game sub in a blowout last week.

Nowak played for years in the Bundesliga for 1860.

If there's one thing you shouldn't use to compare these players, it's their resume in German soccer.

    1860? Is that his age?

More like the collective IQ in Naperville Stadium on game day.

Who cares what he used to do? He was way past it with the Fire and relied on hacking, diving and whining to get by.

Go back over to the Fire boards and join in the wailing and gnashing and self-flagellation going on over the guy. Don't ask us to join in cause we know better.
