Well, this match shouldnot give Heerenveen a headache, but it still is soccer and if I'm right a Heerenveen player is in the ranks of Heracles now, attacker Garcia-Garcia. Hopefully for Heerenveen it willnot be a case of "La Leggia della Ex"... If Mike is lucky he could get nearer to Earnest scoring tally with another hattrick
If the last meeting between these two is any indication then maybe a hat trick is aiming too low: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/match?id=229746&cc=5901
As of right now Herenveen is 2nd in the eredevisie, tied with a big group of teams: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/tables?league=ned.1&cc=5901 It looks exceedingly likely that a place in the champions league playoffs is where this team will end up. Here's the goalscoring table as of Sunday: Rank Player Team Goals 1 Klaas-Jan Huntelaar Ajax Amsterdam 23 2 Blaise N'Kufo Twente Enschede 18 3 Robin Nelisse FC Utrecht 14 4 Roy Makaay Feyenoord Rotterdam 13 Michael Bradley Heerenveen 13 6 Danny Koevermans PSV Eindhoven 12 7 Marcus Berg FC Groningen 11 Luis Suarez Ajax Amsterdam 11 Geert Den Ouden Excelsior 11 Afonso Alves Heerenveen 11 Michael tied with Roy Makaay at 13 goals. Pretty impressive. He's passed Afonso Alves, who as we know from the above post had 7 of those goals in one game.
Think about this for a minute: every other person on that list is a forward. That is pretty impressive, indeed.
On the other hand, playing at home for Heracles and being brutalized the last time in Heerenveen, they could be out for revenge and in for a good "bloed aan de paal" match. Maybe Mike would be wise to put on a double pair of shin protectors.
There is something that could hamper the play of Heerenveen. Heracles is the only team in the "Eredivisie" to play on an artificial grass ground. The sponsor is the world leader in this respect, Ten Cate. No family of the former Ajax coach. This much to the chagrin of the other teams that moan about Heracles having an unfair advantage while Heracles players are used to playing on such grounds and they arenot.
Here's some videofootage of yesterday's training session: (please don't mind the guy next to me coughing his lungs out)
I guess you weren't able to video the part where they sprinkle the Magic Euro Dust? Thanks for the footage! MB looks like he's grown 3-4 inches in the last year or so.
I actually thought he was a bit taller or maybe I was wearing high heels, can't remember exactly the whole day is a bit of a blur now... (had no sleep for about 30 hours) notice the small bits of eurodust flying around...
Um, maybe I am misunderstanding you but those cones were just boundaries. And what age group doesn't use cones as a teaching tool in soccer?
Nah, they were constantly joking around with Sulejmani. Bradley almost only spoke Dutch during training.
Guys, the game is on Sopcast: http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=6441&part=sports But if I click on the link, Sopcast starts up, but that's al, it doesn't connect to a channel or someting, so if no one can help me out, I can't even see the match!
