I wouldn't even give Hurtado or BWP uniforms. Maybe they can be the new stretcher bearers. Or lug out those eight packs of water bottles whenever an actual soccer player is injured. Still, I can at least understand why they thought Phillips would make a decent backup/minutes eater. Turned out they were wrong but OK. But they simply got fleeced for Hurtado. No excuse for that deal. There are street bums who could easily contribute what he has so far and theyd do it for a sandwich and a six pack.
I thought the same thing when I saw BWP pregame against the Red Bulls hugging everyone. He's getting a nice retirement tour this year and that's about it. Still he has been slightly more effective than Hurtado (although so has a Wendy's Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger...) 100% Agree - There is no excuse for this nonsense.
