with a complete domination in both final score and performance, mighty japan u-23 side already see themselves in athen lifting the trophy after demolising hopeless south korean side 2-0. a humble scoreline of 2-0, which could easily have been wider, was a mercy from japan to korea who basically did nothing good to entertain themselves in the game after demonstration of commonly seen poor individual skills and tactics. rather than destroying them in bigger mergin, japan intentionally showed mercy leaving the neighbor a hope in their blood splushing meat scattering campaign to athen against iran and china even though the hope apprears to be frail at this very moment

now it is a shame that japan gave up a lucky draw two games in a row against another minnows such as iran u-23 and russia a team. however, it's now a story of past. the mighty japan will move on to the king's highway to athen and join the gods of olympus and hail zeus and appreciate the joy of almighty soon in the land of sanctuary

    Kekekeke...

When Hamatahci waxes poetics, even the Gods of poetry stand and give the salute.

Anyways, yep, South Korea was Japan's bltch in this friendly. To think I stayed home for this match. Shame on our players for being so lazy and uncaring on the pitch. It seems all the years of playing and tearing apart Japan has become a bit of a chore for our squad these days. I applaud Japan's fighting spirit and determination in sweating blood and tears for every inch on the pitch today.

As for our players, it's high time they were slapped silly and may this experience be the smelling salt for them to slowly wake up.

I had tried to get tickets for Japan vs Oman, but ended up settling for this game. However, I'm happy, as the U23 put on a much better performance than the full team did.

This U-23 generation is most likely to dominate the World Cup 2006 squad list.

    Nice

Japan couldn't beat Iran at home but they beat Korea. This is good news for us. I knew that China was the real threat, oops totally forgot about malaysia!;)

The title alone proves why Hama is so great.

    Bravo!

Iran will be sorry if they take this game as any indicative of actual strength of Korea. This same team beat the same Japanese U-23 squad twice in a row, home and away, only 6 months ago. Therefore, this game lacked motivating factor for our players, some of our star players, and not much preparation. Still, I'm so pissed off at this embarrassing performance especially when it's only 10 days before the china game. Also, I have to admit Japanese squad has improved a lot, they came on to the pitch well prepared, and unlike before, they were mentally strong and were ready to fight. Good luck to both teams.

    Japan definately improved a lot.

Just about last year, the President of JFA commented how the Japanese U23 looked like children against the "adults" Korea.

But this time, Japan looked very well prepared. This had this willingness to win in their eyes whereas the Koreans looked like they were doing it because of the schedule.

One of the reasons why Korea was so dismal was because the Korean team had 1 day to prepare the game together. But overall, they seemed to lack the willingness to play at the first place.

I guess Japan's progress can be attributed to the greater competition caused by some U-20 players, such as Sakata, Hirayama, Konno, Naruoka, Tokunaga and Kikuchi. Everyone has to battle it out for a position. The elder players will be kicked out by the younger generation if they play poorly. Hirayama is a high school student! This U-23 squad is more dynamic than the senior side these days... Let's go to Athens!!!

Does anyone have video clips of the goals or highlights?

Also, what was the result of the Korea U-19 v Japan U-19 game?

This is really no surprise, as the generation that is now 22-23 has been viewed for a long time as the weakest generation in almost a decade. Abe, Tanaka Okubo, Matsui and Ishikawa are all decent players but four or five players dont make a team.

The comparison of Korea's wins over Japan last year are meaningless, because that was against the 22-23 year old generation. If you notice who did all the hard work in the game yesterday it was new additions to the team like Tulio, Konno, Hirayama, Sakata, Tokunaga etc. The group of current 20 year olds is the one that will be the next competitive generation.

only the goal post and the Japanese keeper kept the result somewhat respectable ;) now that we have seen how the Korens measure up, we are gonna have some fun. Kohan is gonna ROCK! :)

at this moment i can only pick makoto tanaka. for mentality purpose we can pick tulio but definately not in the starting lineup. matsui was great yesterday but i'm not convinced yet.

glad to see the mighty japan olympic team is reaching to the level of god but there are still a few players that we have to completely get rid of: kakuta, aoki, and morisaki (don't even fooled by his goal yesterday).

not such a great way to measure.

The Koreans got together 1 day before the match and trained together for 2 hours. Many of the players came straight from Spain or Turkey (where their respective clubs are training) so they weren't exactly in best shape anyways. Some players had NT duties a couple days before.

The Japanese on the other hand had been together since mid-January playing against Iran's U-23 and the Russian NT. They've been building up.

hahaha haven't we heard the same blah blah from the same poster quite often? sometimes one needs to come up with a creative idea when he really wants to mitigate the humiliation or if it really doesn't matter and no big deal one needs to learn to be quiet when it's due and thing just goes away without a mess.

meantime, iranians seem to be confident after the yesterday's game and already think they're the best as they do quite often which i should not care too much.

i can't believe the olympic qualification begins soon and i'm reallly scared that i can easily imagine the bloody mess between iran and korea once the qualification begins. if the chinese or even malaysian fans then get involved imagine.... uhh. we will definately have a froum for the olympic qualification but i do want to request a completely separate forum for this ugly group and no one from this group should be allowed to participate in the forum for the rest of groups. i don't want anything from any teams in the 'group of death' (the meaning of the term 'group of death' in this particular group not only involves extremely competitive situation among skillwisely close teams but also fans' level of common sense, players behavior on the pitch, and ultimate collision of animal instinct). indeed, it is a group of death and the forum should be rated mature for blood and gore, violence, strong language and possibly strong sexual contest. i highly recommend bigsoccer to invent an automatic nationality scanning wizard to restrict innocent civilizations from accessing such a bloody place.

Not to take anything away from Japan's impressive win against our ill-prepared team...

    you know that saying:

"Even if you win the gold medal at the Special Olympics, it still doesn't change the fact you're retarded"

That, best describes, Nippon's win against our lackadaisical squad.
