Awesome. I laughed and I cried (because I was laughing so much). These are the real stories of the players as real humans (not as stylized athletes like in almost every other professional sport in this country). This is why I love Sirk.

Credit to Sirk for putting that all together and turning it into a full fledged epic. That was amazing.

I feel so sad for fans of other teams. They'll never know the awesomeness that is Sirk's Notebook...

Awesome clearly a sign; how many trophies is the team going to bring home this year? I say they win everything US Open Cup, Supporters Shield, and MLS Cup. Then the FO has an extended awards night where they bring up the entire cast of Medieval Times to preform at Crew Stadium.

How about a Medieval Times half time show? Of course the Yellow Knight would always win. . .

I suppose they could show their weaponry skills but they couldn't do any horsemanship.

Not to take anything away from Sirk, but I was far more impressed with Matt Lampson's commentary. That was the true brilliance, IMO.

No shit. This is my favorite:

they were stopped by some wizardry which captured their images which could later be purchased for $9.99 plus tax.

That line struck me as one I could have read in George Saunder's CivilWarLand in Bad Decline.

Without a doubt. This was all about the players, and Lampson's email put it so far over the top. They had so much funny stuff that I simply got out of the way and let them tell it in their own words. My sole contribution was the idea of doing it, following through with the idea, and then assembling all of the right pieces into a narrative. The stuff that everyone loved was 100% the players. They crushed this. I'm glad everyone has gotten such enjoyment out of it. I've been living with bits of pieces of this for several weeks and it still makes me laugh.
