Obviously the ball is not getting to the forwards to do anything with it. The only scoring oppurtunities seem to come off set plays. So my question is: What to do with the mid-field to get them going?

I've always like Martino, but he is playing like crap, to be polite. I'd still like to see him come around, but maybe he needs a week on the bench to think about it. I'm pretty short on ideas, but anything that keeps Oughton off the field works for me.

What do we do? We hire a coach who knows what he's doing and let him make that decision.

We need guys to start creating from the wings..... Oughton and Mais are not going to get done either.

and it must be said, Hejduk thus far has been very poor with the ball at his feet going forward. Fortunately his workrate makes up for it. Sort of.

we pass back to busch so he can get it up to them. . . . oh, wait, that's the only thing we can do right now. was it me, or was denton 100% effective on his passes back to buschy, but 0 for 102 in connecting with anyone else on Saturday. The team I played on when I was eight could connect at least 2 more passes than this team can right now.

This is a given. Aside from that, anyone think that maybe Scott or Testo could drop back and play attacking mid? What about changing to a 3-5-2 or a 3-6-1 (just kidding) to maybe perk up the midfield. Or I know a few passing drill I use to do with the 8-9 yr olds I use to coach that worked wonders. Bet old Greg could use a few tips these days

Actually Martino and Elliot in the middle with Paule on one side and Hejduk on the other is how I would do things.

I like this...keeping Oughton as a spectator is best right now. But Martino needs to look a little sharper than he did against teh Mightly Gals.

I think we should clone four Duncans and put all of them into midfield.

If you'd like to scout and evaluate this midfield, watch any adult amatuer league game in the columbus metro area this weekend.

Credit goes to Galaxy head coach Sigi Schmid for testing a new formula in the center of the pitch against Columbus, but the personnel is not proving to be up to the task. He gave games to newcomers Ned Grabavoy, Marcelo Saragosa and Joseph Ngwenya, and with Andreas Herzog moved to a more left-sided role, the entire starting midfield on Saturday was one that was not in the league a year ago.

and we still were awful. unbelievable.

What's wrong with Sigi? He should call The Druler © . The problem is that they didn't get the chance to play together exclusively for three or four months and so haven't had a chance to gel.

I wouldn't be too concerned with the LA midfield. I mean, just look at them. They obviously require more time to gel... especially with Sigi switching out the starters from game to game. I mean, give them 10 games or so to get it turned around. Don't start judging them because their all so new and need time to acclimate to MLS and each other.... oh, wait...

Credit Sigi with taking a chance in a low risk environment. I doubt he would have tried that against the Metros right now. Seems like we could be getting treated as a test bench for other teams possible lineups. Pretty smart - builds new guy's confidence.

Should we drop Oughton for Armstrong? I haven't seen much of Stephen Armstrong's play, but apparently he is healthy again, he was a KC fan favorite, and I believe he has the exact same paltry salary as Oughton does, $31,256. Or would this be too lateral of a move to be worthwhile?

We have an SI slot open, we could drop Mais.

Let it be said that I hate Stephen Armstrong as a person since he dated the girl I love before I did. He's scum, and from what I understand he's not a very good kisser either. He's definately not as attractive as me either. Bad hair, bad nose, most likely a bad dresser as well.

That said, Armstrong is a very decent player (whoa, double entendre!). He has scored goals that Oughton could only dream of, including a blast for DC (go figure) against us a few years back. He literally has played seemingly everywhere but goalkeeper in KC (used on the back line for a few games last year). IMO, he's best when given more offensive responsibilities. I'd have him on our side in an instant and have felt that way for a few years. But there is no chance that we will dump Mais. Just won't happen. Thats too outside the box for this team, and I'm not sure I would even want them to do it.

I think it would be a good move if something like that could take place... Armstrong would definitely be an improvement over Dunc.

    Who the ******** is Armstrong?

Either way... I think these players will be ok once they have an idea of what they're supposed to be doing.

Oughton is our answer to Makelele, we can't trade him.

He could do color on radio & TV with Dwight. It has to pay more and I KNOW he would be better...

I can't believe you people talk about the young Roy Keane, he's like literally on the verge of being Emerson.
