That's why you don't bring on Martinelli. That should have been red.

Didn't have many options due to illness unless we called up some u23s

Yeah that's why I said "WHY????" to Arteta! I.e. Why risk him, when he's now our Auba replacement in the EPL? Seems a dumb move.

It’s still relevant .. there aren’t two different Arsenals .

My point was that they’re getting better and better

It’s a gamble but he may score again and strikers like to keep playing whilst they’re scoring

Nice shot of the Sunderland faithful. <1% of people masked. Does anyone wonder why Omicron is rampant in England ATM?

OK, but w'ere playing a 3rd tier opponent tonight.

Anyway, on comes the much lauded Charlie Patino!!! Let's see what he can do with 10 minutes.

Yeah, that's what we should have done. It's a 9-man bench - Ramsdale, Tierney, Gabriel, Xhaka or Partey, Lacazette, and 4 guys from the U23. Only play the first 5 if shit goes way off track.

And now Martinelli is down with a head injury. Nice confident, styley win, but Arteta may get skewered for some of his personnel decisions tonight.

When did tackles from behind and lunging assaults become acceptable to refs ??

They don’t even bother having a word these days after someone is clattered and limping around

    FT ARS 5-1 SUN

Fun match to watch (what I saw of it anyway).

A great night for Eddie. With moments of steamy hot sex on his third goal.

A very good night for the previously MIA Nicolas Pepe.

And Patino lived up to his hype! Bagging his first senior goal within 8 mins of coming on.

Sunderland played well... by the looks of them, they should be rising up the leagues.

For us, we're on to the semis of this tournament where we'll face some stiffer competition.

But win one more, and we're off to a Cup Final again.

Weird. We also don't have that many young wingers coming up right now which was the obvious place for subs

Hopefully Eddie just added another 5M+ GBP to his transfer price - assuming we can sell him in January. He does love to score with the back heel of back foot.

Pepe with 1 goal and 2 (really good) assists. I realize the competition is subpar, but I think it only helps to have him available coming off the bench.

Huge boost when Patino scored. Was really great to see all the players more excited than he was.
