Michael Brown suspended 3 games for the hit on Xabi Alonso. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=429133&cc=5901 guess it's more likely now that Demps gets his first start.
I'll be rather perturbed if Deuce doesn't get his first start after that huge goal and two solid sub performances.
In their match prior to that, I though Brown could have been sent off. I saw an off the ball elbow that the ref didn't see either. He came in late with his arm up. If I was the manager, I would tell him hard tackles are fine but if you do late, chippy, crap that hurts the team you can sit.
Anybody got video of his Brown's headbutt? I searched Youtube and found a couple other hard tackles by him: http://youtube.com/results?search_query=michael+brown+fulham&search=Search
I think Dempsey has to start Sunday, just on principle. The game doesn't mean anything for either Fulham or Middlesbrough, so why not.
If Sheff Utd and West Ham both win, while fulham ties or loses, they'll just have dropped $2m (pds 500k per spot), which probably means more money in the transfer kitty. Nothing compared to the value of last week's result, of course. boro is in the same situation. Now, this is a meaningless game, but I hope it's a game Fulham takes advantage of. finishing strong has it's merits.
You'd have to think that this bodes well for Dempsey's future come August. Sanchez getting the appointment might have depended on the goal that Clint delivered.
No kidding. Of course, loyalty is sport is long dead, but he certainly has a lot of leeway with the fans to start Dempsey at this point. Also, he's only been there for a couple weeks, and as of now, he knows he has one difference maker. that can't hurt, either.
GOOD! That's the best news Fulham have had all season. They should send him packing. He's come close in several games of getting tossed.
